The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Being so stupid people don’t want to engage is effective, I’ll give you that.
People on Twitter are saying Edwards is effectively a net zero to the Timberwolves championship equity this series due to his plus minus being a +1. I just wanted to see how far you guys would go defending that stat.

I genuinely don’t understand how I’m using the stat wrong. Gobert is a +8 for the series and Ant is a +1. Does that mean Gobert has a higher impact on winning?

“People on twitter” are saying that. Ok lmao.

Let me remind you that you are using the stat in a completely different way than the opposing argument. You don’t just get to say something is stupid because you chose to use it stupidly.

People are saying shooting is important, and yet Jokic is 2-9 from 3 this series. What freaking idiots right?!?! Oh wait….

That’s not even remotely the same comparison at all.

+/- mean nothing. Tonight ANT was mvp level, Mike did his job ( 15pts, 9 Assists, 0 TO).Naz was okay. The rest of the team totally s.... and let way too many open 3. One more time Rudy limitations get more obvious in PO but to his credit he fight until the end where KAT was totally garbage . KAT will never be a clutch player and is a disapointment at every PO.
They should trade KAT or Rudy in this off season and retool around ANT. ANT-Rudy connection is DON-Rudy level on the field and ANT-KAT connection is not working really well. They are a good team but not yet a contender. I'm happy to be finally right after beeing wrong so many times :)

Minnesota really lost the game in the 2:40 that Edwards sat. That’s incredible to be -13 in that short of a span.

They’ll have to decide between trading Gobert and KAT. That won’t be an easy decision.

Especially since the GM is pot committed now by giving the farm for Gobert.
In the 2:40 Elizah Huge is alluding to, neither Gobert nor KAT were on the floor either.

the game was won by aaron gordon making all the shots and i mean ALL the shots that he would normally brick. If he has his regular shooting night he probably has half the points if that and the Wolves win by 5 points or so. Why is nobody talking about this ???
If Anthony Edwards doesn’t sit for a single second Minnesota still likely wins.

I couldn’t believe it. Jokic wasn’t on the floor either and they still got cooked. 8 rotation players and the 3 on the bench are KAT, Ant, and Gobert. Insanity.

I commented earlier in the thread while the game was going on….they basically just decided to lose by playing lineup. Proved to be true.

also .. the series is tied lol people carrying on like it's over ????
Haven't seen anyone talking about it like it's over after tonight's game.

I did see a lot of that after the t wolves were up 2-0 though

When it's directly attributable to a rare lineup decision in a big playoff game (all bench players vs several Nuggets starters for a couple minutes) and a literal 8 points in 20 seconds run, I think it's fair to do.
Except it never happened: The Wolves played only 8 players for the game. You probably talking about the beginning of the 2nd quarter, when Minnesota went with Conley & McDaniels + bench against Murray & MPJ + bench. Also, don't forget that the Wolves have a stronger bench with Reid. In those two minutes the teams looked pretty balanced on paper.

Also, why 8 points in 20 seconds is so remarkable? Minnesota scored 5 points in 30 seconds too in this game. The only thing that makes "8 points in 20 seconds" special is the last-second heave that went in. It happens from time to time.

What's really crazy about this series is..... the other team has won all their games in the opposing team's arena.
