What's new

Detroit Pistons @ Utah Jazz, 8pm Central Time

Hard to say how bad or minor it was from what we saw. If it is only minor, ok, but I'd rather play it safe. Winning or losing this game is not important. If it were, then of course Rudy would play, but if there's a risk of further injury it's not worth having him play for a meaningless game.

Well he played through it and appeared to walk fine after the game ended. Then he was giving locker-room interviews saying he was going to go get treatment later. That tells me it wasn't a very serious sprain.

I've had 3 ankle sprains, all varying in severity. The way Gobert looked tells me it wasn't that serious.

before we get overconfident here, lets remember the Lakers game...we're a young team that tends to play to level of our competition. Vegas has us as an 8 point favorite. The last 3 times the Jazz were favored we haven't covered a single one of them.

Should be an easy win, the Jazz are on a roll and wh... oh... wait, the Pistons aren't a playoff team.

nvm Jazz are screwed.

I haven't heard the low-down on Rudy. Can someone post a link or something? Why might he not play?
Not sure if you watched the last game but rudy came down in a teammate (millsap?) who was on the ground under the hoop and rolled his ankle. Badly. When I saw the replay it looked horrible.

Rudy just limped around a bit though and didn't even leave the game immediately so maybe it's not bad or rudy is just tough as hell (probably both)

Edit: just got to the end of the thread and I see that he is playing so it must not have been too bad.

It didn't look that bad.....

Also, it's much easier for bigs to play with ankle sprains than it is for guards who rely on change of speed/direction.

Well he isn't going to miss a single minute due to an ankle injury so.......
What is your point.
I said it looked bad to me. I didn't say it ended up being bad.
You like to argue too much.

Does this give us a better chance today?

RT @NBAPR: Portland Trail Blazers center Joel Freeland and Detroit Pistons forward Shawne Williams have been suspended one game.

Yeah, I was pretty worried about how we were going to deal with Shawne Williams. He is a true difference maker.

It might be good, however, considering how Aldrich and Shved played the other day. Or it might be bad, seeing that an even scrubbier scrub might be taking some of his minutes.

I consider myself a pretty knowledgable NBA fan as far as players and rosters go, but I have no idea who the **** Shawne Williams is. But I've only watched Detroit once this season, and that was a long time ago.
