Following potential 2015 draftees

this is why I say trade down and get Justin Anderson or trade out and get KJ mcdaniels. both are intense defenders and have shown the ability to hit the 3 ball. both are super athletic and like to defend.

KJ can't throw it in the ocean... Shoots 29% from 3. He's cute and all and he makes spectacular plays here and there but he's a terrible fit for us.

Problem is we need Gobert on the court more than anyone, and going by his minutes recently, Quin agrees. Rudy's minutes are averaging 36 a game recently.
Neither Rudy or Frank can play PF, so 12 minutes as a backup is not worth it for a valuable lottery pick.

Idk for sure if it would work, but it's a possibility. If anyone can make up for Kaminsky's defensive lapses, it's Gobert. The main problem would be whether that duo could guard stretch 4's.

Chandler/Dirk worked really well, so I wouldn't automatically assume that Gobert/Kaminsky wouldn't, too, for stretches.

Dirk is way more mobile than Kaminsky.

I think that's the case with just about anyone we draft.
Bigs: Rudy 35, Favors 35, Booker 15, Fourth big 11 mins?
Wings: Hayward 33, Burks 25, Hood 25, Fourth wing 13 mins? (But also include mins for Millsap and/or Ingles?)
PG: Dante 30, 2nd/3rd PG 18.

Really, the best draft alternative would be to replace Burke with a very good rookie PG. I don't see us getting Russell or Mudiay, though
Next best alternative, IMO, is to prepare for perhaps losing Booker as an UFA in the summer of insanity (2016). Money is going to be tossed around like candy. A stretch-4 to develop would be nice (Porzingis?). Or maybe a 4/5 like Turner. May depend on the status of Tomic/Pleiss. I'll bet Lindsey wll ask for a pre-draft commitment from Tomic if he's going to make the jump.

Be careful what you wish for though... Kanter & Gobert didn't work too well.

FWIW there is another Providence PG projected to go mid-first round this year in Kris Dunn. He actually completed the first triple double(27-pts/13-boards/11-dimes/3-steals) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8pyH-XEYXc) in Big East League Play in roughly 10 years.

He was a Mcdonalds AA two years ago rated #2 nationally at PG behind Marcus Smart(#3 was Paige from UNC). Big time athlete/prospect with all the tools. Skilled, fast, big(6'3), long(6'8 wingspan) with Larry Bird and Magic Johnson court vision. Really has been starting to draw the Westbrook and Wall comparisons during his breakout play the last month. Would have been lottery pick last year if he didn't tear labrum in 1st exhibition game. Him and Cotton would have formed best backcourt in country and been a top 10-15 team all year. He's currently the only player in the country to average over at least 15 points, 7 assists, and 2.5 steals. There have been only something like 2-3 players in the past 30 years in all of college basketball to post those numbers over the course of any one season.

It's not just pure statistical accumulation that makes Dunn an NBA prospect though. His physical profile is extemely intriguing at 6-foot-3 with a 6-foot-8 wingspan, meaning he has pretty prototypical size for the point guard position in the NBA. His lightning-quick first step and excellent ball-handling ability allows him to get penetration basically at will on the college level, and that should be able to translate to the NBA level. Once he's in the lane, he has a pretty good pull-up game that includes a nice litttle floater as well as the ability to knock down a midrange shot from 10 feet, plus has the ability to explode to the rim and dunk or finish with either hand. When putting that into conjunction with his clearly superb vision, there's enough there to make Dunn a first-round pick. Then throw in the fact that he's going to be a first-team All-Big East defensive team member that uses his length to cause opposing guards all kinds of problems? Dunn could rise all the way to the lottery by the end of the process.

Wow. So much to like about his game. I don't follow college ball much so thanks for bringing him to our attention.

Kaminksy = Motiejunas?

Kaminsky=memo... Montiejunas can't shoot or pass as well as Frank. Frank is good in the post but not as good as montiejunas.

He'd give our front court another dimension. He has a very low floor and a decent ceiling. At very least he's Kelly olynyk.

I just think the last position we need another developmental player at is point guard. If DL thinks he is special you go ahead and pick him, but I really think we need a veteran at PG.
