Kanter watch

Ouch, looks like Kanter not allowed back in the 4th qtr even though Steven Adams already has 40 minutes. 1 short rebound of keeping his double double streak alive which is highest active streak in the NBA.

looks like Scott Brooks could rest Russ and Enes with Adams and Dj Augustin last 4 min of the game. Or you didn't watch the game

Andy Larsen did am ama on reddit. One question I found interesting was this.

"From your perspective, did you get the feeling that Kanter was unhappy here before rumors started going around?
Also, out of the core players, who are the most personable?"

AL: It's funny, Kanter was an incredibly happy-go-lucky guy. He was easily the nicest player to me, even when I was ripping him: he's just a fun guy! But then, after games, especially losses, you could just see that it was eating him up that he wasn't getting more of a chance to contribute. He was making very thinly veiled comments about Ty's coaching and rotations. He clearly thought that this year would be a new beginning, but when a second coach limited him too (due to his defense), he wanted out. But yeah, he was unhappy about his situation at least going back to year 2.
Out of the core players, probably Gobert now? Hayward sees dealing with the media as part of his job, and Favors is that super quiet, hardworking type. Burke's really professional and smart, but almost too much so, and Burks doesn't talk long enough to have any idea what his personality is like. Exum I don't think has really hit his groove as a 19 year old in a new country, I'm curious to see what his evolution personally is like.

Being a Jazz fan is a good thing because Favors.

Like I stated before, I was pretty bummed when Kanter was traded and after he went off in the press I initially was going to chalk it up to being a young, emotional guy but other players his age have been traded before and have not made jackasses of themselves. Don't burn bridges as they say.

Kanter, you're a ****ing ****.

30 pts 16 rebounds with 1 assist and 1 block. Got the L too though. Kanter really needs Roberson and Ibaka back to help him on defense not to mention Durant.

Memphis the third worst offensive team since the all star break (only better than the Knicks and Utah) scoring 93.7 points a game. They already have 55 in the first half vs the Thunder.

Thunder had a bad game from Westbrook. Green was big enough to guard Westbrook. Kanter had 24 and 17,got praise from Barry. Thunders prob is most of their available roster only play offense .So their only chance to win is to outscore you.

Kanter had another awesome performance tonight. 24/17...and another loss. If the Pelicans win tonight, OKC will only have a 1/2 game lead for the final playoff spot. I'd love to see OKC miss the playoffs and blame Kanter for the late season collapse.

A Mephis Grizzlies fan
"It is a guarantee that Kanter is going to be a monster offensively, IMO. Going into this game, I questioned his ceiling because of how badly he looked on defense when I had watched him before. However, he did a good job on Marc and ZBo for long stretches.
A combination of KD, Westbrook and a refined Kanter is a scary thing from the POV of a Western conference foe, but exciting as an NBA fan."

Golden State Warriors fan (lol on this one)
"Westbrooks MVP and Kanter is the next Wilt."

A Jazz fan (how clever of him.)
"Kanter with the stats and the L (as always)."

A Bucks fan responding to said Jazz fan
"I really don't think this one is on Kanter. He seemed to give quite a bit of effort tonight. I mean, still **** Kanter, but tonight's not really on him."

So what if some guy says he's good? Fact is OKC is dead last in defense with Kanter on the floor (nearly 110 pts per poss) and fact is OKC lost again.

The Thunder have a better winning percentage after the trade than they had before, despite Ibaka's injury. Interesting.
I think that is mostly because westbrook turned it up a notch and had about the best stretch of basketball that we have seen in many many years.

So just don't give any credit to Kanter. But if they lose, it's only because because of his lack of defense. Alright.

Not saying that.
Just saying that westbrook had one of the best stretches of basketball that alot of us have ever seen.

If he played that well simply because kanter arrived then I expect him to record triple doubles in the next 6 games that okc play.

I think he just got hot and no one could stop him at that time. Kanter just happened to arrive on the thunder at the right time to be a part of it. I think it was coincidence

Don't you even consider that Kanter helped him doing those crazy things? Do you think, Westbrook could have had so much assists without Kanter (for example)?
