What's new

Game Of Thrones

Highland, PM me. I've read the series twice, it's been a while, but I should be able to answer questions. I never made it past the first season of the show though.

probly cause the books have way more details, are better than the series, and are a fun read. You're missing out, read them.

Uhm... brosef, I agree with you, but I'm a glutton for punishment. You're going to have a helluva hard time getting others to agree with that.

Most I talk to find most of the filler boring and hard to follow

Whenever I hear something like "that part wasn't in the books" I am like "wow really? that was one of my favorite parts." It makes me think the show is better than the books. Like the part were Varys had that sorcer dude in the box, the part were Arya talks with Tywin, Stannis gave the option for Mance Rayder to kneel or burn etc etc. I think the show creators did a real good job hitting on these changes.

iirc, the arya tywin scene was in the books, and so was the scene where mance gets the choice to kneel or burn.

Even the varys scene may have been in the books. (I can't remember)

Tywin and Arya didn't interact when she was at Herenhall (I think that's the name of that castle). She worked in the kitchens, I believe. I think Tywin was there at some point but she was never his personal cup bearer, or whatever it was she was doing for him.

I see

I couldn't help myself and watched all the leaked episodes.

Spoilers concern both the books and leaked episodes:
So there has been some changes from the books that bother me. Sansa being promised to Ramsay( which still may not be the case) and Jaime going to Dorne being thd biggest of them. I don't know if they cut the Aegon storyline or they just won't have Tyrion in it. It will be fun to see how they tackle those and hell to wait for new episodes.

I would like to commend you on your exemplary use of the spoiler box function. I appreciate it!

I might peek after I watch tonight's episode.

Yeah, I watched all the leaked episodes, kind of regret it now that i have to wait super long for episode 5.

Am I the only one rolling my eyes every time he has yet a different character, in completely different circumstances, dramatically say something like "such things must one be willing to do when one dares to play the GAME OF THRONES!" Ugh. We get it. It's a cool name. Is that really what every single unconnected character interested in a little more power calls it? Is it like "two - party system" for us? That's the most heavy handed thing he does repeatedly, in the books at least.

Try a spoiler box...

because that was a ****ing spoiler, big time

Dragon was in preview, and I didn't say in what manner or when you get to see the dragon.
So I didn't really spoil anything, besides you shouldn't creep on threads on the subject if you don't want to run into spoilers, change the subject to *No spoiler GoT gossip thread* or start your own!

That's why I don't watch previews, etc...

I had all the lights in the living room turned off, we have a 65 inch screen with surround sound turned right up, so that scene in the dark was quite frightening. The anticipation of what Dernarys was gonna see/experience, the unknown, as well as how she walked away from the dragons when the last season ended, etc.

That scene was quite memorable for me.

This is the proper way to induce yourself in the adventure. I actually begin with MJ to enhance experience/emotions. I have since vanilla. Only way.

I thought this was a great episode. Arya's pigeon hunting skills are A+.

Yes another great episode, GOT seems to have stepped up production value, cinematography this season. Can't fault it at all.

I thought the beginning scene with Arya in the new land was particularly memorable with her boat trip, finding her way around the city, fending for herself, etc...

Loving this season so far. Seems to me what sets this season apart from the others is that all the main characters seems to be in strange new environment, with new adventures, etc, ... not knowing what's gonna happen next is very interesting & captivating to me.
