What's new

Following potential 2015 draftees

I'd like to take this opportunity to express that I'm not excited about Looney. I'd rather have Dunn.

I really don't know if there will be opportunities for Dunn to develop on our team. Exum is inexperienced, Dunn backing him up next year when we're trying to make a playoff run is not ideal.

Moreover, we need 'shooters' is what Quin emphasised during he exit interviews. We already have a lot of ball handlers, I don't know if we need another.

I would go down the Lyles/Portis/Looney route before turning to Dunn.

I'm saying I'd rather have Dunn than Looney. I'm just not that interested in Looney.

I like Portis a bit more than Lyles because Portis is a bit quicker and seems to have better range. Portis also finishes well in the paint.

I now have to try to sell myself on Dekker.

Yeah, Nah, I'm not sold on Looney neither.

He gives me that Quincy Miller vibe. Great in workouts, 1 VS None situation, but ineffective in real game situation.

apparently Charlotte needs shooter and pj Hairston did not live up to hype. if hezonja is off the board booker and dekker (don't agree with dekker being a shooter) that leaves Johnson as the choice. (the have to many soft bigs so kaminsky isn't an option) they might be a good trade partner. they trade down draft booker and pick up a future first jazz draft Johnson.

I think Charlotte wants Hezonja as badly as we do. I also think that Oubre is going to be on their short list. They might trade down, but I'm guessing they'd want Hood as part of a deal. You're right that they're desperate for shooting.

not going to get hood but I would offer a future first. hezonja will go before they pick.

I wouldn't hate it if we took Looney. Seems like he should be able to guard both forward positions, and 42% from 3 on 1.5 attempts per game is promising as stretch 4 prospect, especially as a freshman.

Defense + floor spreading from the PF spot... sounds like what we're looking for. He wouldn't be the most exciting pick, but whatever, if the FO is convinced he's the right pick, then I'll be good with it and can see the reasoning behind it.

Oubre would probably replace Ingles. Looney would probably replace Evans or Jerret.

Personally, I like Portis more than Looney, but maybe that's just me.

Ingles need to stay. He brings more to the table than just his heady plays. He's a good chemistry guy on and off the court. He also provides vet leadership and cool head when the situation requires.

If we draft Oubre, do we still re-sign Jingles?

If we draft Looney, do we cut Booker?

I'd resign Jingles as spot minutes/insurance for injuries guy, he also seems to be a great locker room guy. Also depends on how much Jingles would command in FA. If somebody offers him mid-level exception money I don't know if we'd be justified in matching.

I think Booker's fate will be decided by whether or not we trade for a big contract or not, and whether or not we sign a big contract free agent. I don't think it will be decided by us drafting Looney(or any other big).
