What's new

Is Rondo a shell of his former self?

Hopefully he goes to the Lakers and Kanter to the Thunder (or Lakers).

Going to be a great off season I think.

I think this. He truly was a talent to behold a few years back. He played with a chip on his shoulder, and it made him personally better, and probably better team player.

But now the roles are reversed... Chip is a horrible basketball player, and he's playing with Rondo on his shoulder.

Yes, he is less than he was. But is it possible too that the memory of Rhondo is also greater than what he actually was?

Boston hype is almost as bad as Kentucky hype. For instance, brad Stevens is currently on the messiah list just behind Jesus and tom Brady but ahead of Curt schilling and the beetles because he lead the celtics to a less than amazing 40-42 record in the miserable east.

Let's look.

From 2008-2015 in Boston, Rondo averaged 10.3 assists with 3.3 TO's on a per game basis. That doesn't grow on trees.

He's never been a great 3pt shooter(but his % has increased in Dallas). Nor FT shooter, although he did get to the line a fair amount.

I think his numbers show it's fair to say he was a great facilitator, but not always a great scorer.

There are some that say that he was never really that good to begin with. He was seen as a high assist great defense point guard and one of the best in the business for it but even though he had Allen, Pierce, and Garnett their offense was only 1 point per 100 poss above average. However he had some amazing post season performances so I don't know what the believe.

Rhondo is done in Dallas. Carlise just said he won't be back for the next game, for the series or with the mavericks...ever.

Onto LAL?

I wouldn't want to get into it with Carlisle. He looks like he could turn into Heisenberg.

I had hope for Rondo but i doubt he will end up in one of the better-run teams now.

is it overseas for Rondo or will a team like NY take a chance on him. I think that this exploits Rajon as a headcase that is going to become a career journeyman from this time forward.

Did the injuries take it's toll on him that badly?

I find it highly likely that both Perkins and Rondo were extremely overrated because they were playing with 3 really good/great players. Rondo hasn't been the same guy since that team broke up. It's why I have never had interest in having him on the Jazz.
