2015 NBA Playoffs

I used to play pickup ball with a very physical kid who would routinely take out player's legs when they went up for a layup. He wasn't trying to hurt anybody - wasn't the type, but it was dangerous. He hurt a couple people doing that (not REALLY hurt, but enough to get people upset).

I think Delly's the same way. I don't think he's trying to hurt anybody, and those hustle plays are admirable, but they can be dangerous. I'm not really sure if anything can be done about it though rules-wise to prevent injuries. Al Horford should've just kept his cool - that was a really stupid retaliation.

What Delly did to Korver reminded me of what DWade did to Rondo in the playoffs when Boston was a contender.

People seemed to brush these things aside but I do think the NBA should take a good look at it.

Does Lebron play baseball?

Wish he did.

I'm tired of hearing of his greatness.

it's nauseating, i know. but you gotta accept it and appreciate his greatness. you are watching truly one of the greatest player ever walked on Earth. dude does everything. he is like tom brady, picking defenses apart with his brain first. and bron is slowly developing a clutch gene. now i expect him to make a clutch shot at the end.

Dellabrodova is in my top 5 favorite NBA players. Love that guy. Such a pest.

...he's an untalented puke! Can't his a jump shot to save his neck! Only thing he's got going for him is he's tattoo-less....I think! If he covers Curry in the Finals, he'll get lit up for 50 a game!

30 year old MJ's 1992-1993 playoff run

absolutely ridiculous. scroll all the way down.

Bron is great. will go down as top 3 all time.

but MJ is untouchable basketball god.
You say that's untouchable, but here's something that sure appears to touch it:

I haven't gone through line by line and done the math, but it meets the eyeball test.

I don't mind watching Lebron. I preferred watching Jordan. I got tired of all the yammering about him too.

I guess just don't like the NBA media machine, or maybe I prefer fresh story lines.

In other news, I laughed at a quote from Horford about delly..."he doesn't understand it's a brotherhood".

Ha ha ha, deladova is playing to win, even if it is dirty and suddenly it's a novelty with the media and the players are shocked. I wonder sometimes if some players let The stars win, because afterall it is a brotherhood.

one thing really bothers me about Bron - and this is very much nitpicking...

EAST SUCKS

seriously, just look at this hawks team. no way in hell they are 61 win team. just look at all the east teams in the past. it is so easy to go to finals if you are bron because you only have 1 hurdle at best.
It has been this way for so long, though. Look back at the route Chicago had to the finals every year. It was much easier than the route their western opponents took. So I have a problem with it to, but it is in no way specific to LeBron.

No one has ever had the combo of points, rebounds, and assists in the playoffs that Lebron had tonight (37-18-13). Damn. Gonna be an epic showdown between Curry and Lebron. Difference will be Curry's sidekicks aren't in the ER.

I agree.

But now that you mention this, I'm scared for Curry. I hope that talentless puke doesn't hurt Curry.

WORSE call in the history of the NBA playoffs! No way that was a flagant 2 foul on Horford....and I'm all for flagrant fouls being called! First of all, there was no damage to that little Australian puke kid who has a propensity for rolling over on big guys knees and ankles on purpose! Slow motion replay indicated that's exactly what he was trying to do to Horford! Horford's elbow was semi-intentional but caused no damage whatsoever! Possible a flagrant 1, but NO WAY a flagrant 2! In my opinion, those 3 clown refs, John Goble, Ken Mauer and Tony Brothers, should be BANNED from reffing anymore playoff games for that egregious decision to kick Horford out of the game! You would think one of those numbnuts would have had the sense to say "this was NOT a flagrant 2 foul" and refused to go along with the other 2 numbnuts! The fact that they called a technical foul on that Australian kid, indicates they thought he was at least an instigator in the play! The Hawks would have probably lost the game anyway, but at this point, I despise the Cavs, Lebron and that puke kid from Australia more than the Bull's and Jordan! The Warriors will sweep the Cav's! Bank on it!

It's funny how much people hate the cavs, that they convince themselves they see something completely opposite of the way it happened. Horford dragged him down and then delivered an intentional elbow, and yet some people are determined to twist it around. Sad.

haters gonna hate. they will always find a way to hate

Considering the fact they are without two injured stars, maybe not. What other team in NBA history has made it to the finals missing their clear cut 2nd and 3rd best players? So, while one can argue the competition is lacking, they've had to do it without two all-stars, arguably making what they have accomplished as impressive as any finals run in NBA history.

I meant in terms of their competition, not relative to the strength of their own team.

WTS? You can't complain about one team missing players and ignore the fact that the other team is in the exact same situation. Makes absolutely no sense.

... Alright, let me spoonfeed my point to you: My post has nothing to do with the Cavs themselves. Absolutely nothing. Read that sentence until it sinks, then move on to the next paragraph.

The Celtics/Bulls/Hawks, as those teams were, was an extremely weak path to the Finals, even by Eastern conference standards. That is it. That is my whole point. And let me again add for emphasis: I am only commenting on the path itself. My point has nothing to do with the team that underwent that path.

Interesting that we are seeing from Milsap what some of us criticized him about in Utah. He plays all-star level for a while, 5-15 games or so even, then just fades out like he's tired or something, for 5 games or so, or longer, then comes back and plays strong again. Seeing that from him this year in the playoffs as well. I don't know what it is, but it does seem to be a pattern for him.

I also heard someone on the radio the other day talking about how Jordan never beat magic or bird until they were past their primes and never beat the bad boy pistons at their peak

I think you've got Stevie Wonder disease! We all got eyes! There was no malicious intent whatsoever by Horford! If there was ANY malicious intent it was the Australian kid purposely trying to role Horfords knee! So why did the kid get a technical? Hey, the Hawks were going to get swept anyway, but this was a sadly pathetic call/ruling and that's the way I.....and millions of other saw it!

Horford or Gibson didn't have to retaliate though - they took the wrong route.

...neither was much of a retaliation! Gibson was just trying to shake free from that leg scissors and Horford was trying to protect himself from a "kamikaze" career ending knee injury! This kid is going to get his clock cleaned by someone and THAT will be a real flagrant foul 2, and it might be sooner than later!

Looking at the replay again this morning....that little puke was nowhere near going for the ball when he tried to roll Horford's knee! Also, the report is the refs gave him a tech because they felt there was INTENT to injure Horford on purpose! I suspect at 8 am this morning a "contract" was put out on this kid....before he tries to take out Curry in the Finals!
