Steve kyler has a lot of good info today. Nice stuff about hood and players. He thinks Exum will be better than Mudiay.

I saw that too. I hope it's true.

I think that is interesting because after the Magic drafted Gordon and traded for Payton, Kyler talked a lot about how raw Exum was and that the Magic didn't want to wait for him to develop or something along those line. Before the draft he talked about how special Dante was and how good he would be. It seems as if his mind has been changed again. I think the Magic might be regretting the Gordon draft already.

To me the biggest appeal in his game is the combination of defensive potential(especially as a rim protector) and potential to stretch the floor. There are very very few players in the league that can do both.

I get that and I don't hate Turner, but unless I feel he can be a legit floor spacer, it may just be indication of softness or lack of low post game. Not a good thing. On the other hand, his turn around jump shot with high release from the low block and is as pretty and unstoppable as anybody. I also wonder about his coaching - tend to think it could have been a lot better.
 
Regarding Turner: I see him as 1 of the most underrated prospects in this draft & possibly even the 2nd best big man due to his 2 way potential. He isn't without risk, but in a class full of high risk/high reward prospects, he is worth it (imo). My main concerns are potential injury problems & lack of quickness/explosiveness, but his unique combination of defensive ability & shooting range far outweighs any risk that he brings. I agree that he is not a perfect fit for this team, but getting him at #12 would be a major steal. I don't expect him to drop out of the top 10 & wouldn't give up significant assets in order to acquire him (as I don't see him as a great fit alongside Gobert), but I think he has the potential to be a top 5 player in this draft class. The recent video of his workouts show that he is willing to put in the effort necessary in order to improve on his weaknesses, & while it may take longer for him to put it all together, injuries are the only reason I can see it not happening. He has the character, length, defensive ability, & long-term potential that teams look for. Pending his physical evaluations, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being drafted much higher than he's currently expected to be.

Yeah, but he watches games of the prospects he thinks are in the Jazz range. He probably watches as mcuh college ball as a lot of poeple on here (not a lot, but the big games).

This is about what I think too. A lot of my opinions (and many other posters as well im sure) are based off of highlight videos and the opinions of media, scouts, and jazzfanz posters. Im 100% sure that he watches more games than I do. I mean my hell, gets paid to watch and research sports. I have a real job and aint got time to watch a bunch of college games.

Guaranteed that locke watches more bball, college or pro, than 90% of the posters on jazzfanz. Again, he gets paid to watch sports. Even if he says he doesn't like the college game, its still his job to watch them anyways.

Having said that, I don't like listening to him. His mannerisms and voice simply rub me the wrong way.
At times he is good (I loved listening to him during the game right after hot rod died. He nailed it. Was entertaining, emotional, and professional) but mostly I just miss hot rod.

It was the fact that he stated it as FACT... look at his twitter and see things like don't doubt it its a waste of time. If you think its likely he's a bust then fine, but cite examples of success and failure... there are both. It seems he might be back tracking a bit by his retweet of the pelton info on Frank today.

I think we just need to get Stanley Johnson and then we won't have to argue this all summer.

Think you are right. He could go as high as 6 and I don't see him getting past us at 12.
