Following potential 2015 draftees

So amped when I think about the fact that Portis has a 0% chance of being on this team

Why do you think that?

He is a very good fit and fits what our team needs emotionally and physically. If we lose Booker, we are going to need another energy guy and Portis could be that guy. He won't have the highlight dunks, but he will get out there and throw his body around be an overall better player.

Just watch D'Angelo's Russell's vertical jump test. 30.5" standing vert. 39" max vert. Much better than expected.

WTF! He doesn't look that athletic in game. That's crazy good for his size and length... and for what he's shown on court. A bit like Eric Gordon... he had crazy test #s but never really translated it consistently on court. I wonder why he didn't test at the combine. That would have been a huge talking point around him since those were the exact concerns about him.

New DX mock shows value of getting to 10 if we can... Think heat want to offload McBob and he'd fit here nicely. We need to either be at 9 or 10 to be one spot out of top 9 when someone reaches we grab SJ or Porzingis. I can see Detroit or Charlotte reaching for immediate need.

Also think Payne has a promise from Indiana. He worked out for them then shut down other workouts. Check out Steve kyler on twitter and he was talking about him. There is a small chance someone from that second tier falls to us but I'd love to move up a bit and increase the odds.

Based on DX latest mock I'd like to move up 1 spot at least. But 1 would suffice. I like the guys DX lists going right before uz.

Or just take Looney. He might be better than all those guys.

The guys DX now lists at 12 on down make me feel like the outside looking in. Except for Looney and Portis. I might like them better anyway, but I'd like the option of taking Turner or Kaminsky.

RJ Hunter's workout video:

His release is super quick. "You know what I mean?"

Some projection models project him to be a great 3p shooter in the league...

I dunno that I'm all that enamored of Porzingis. Watching the DX video he looks really soft. And offensively not so consistent either. I don't get it. Hopefully someone else drafts this year's Vesely?

If the team drafting 1 spot ahead of you wants the player you want, they won't trade with you. If they don't want the player you want, there's no reason to do a trade....unless they're extorting you or something. If a team trades up in the draft, it's usually at least 2 spots.

I could see Payne going at 10 to the Heat or 11 to the Pacers. They both need PGs or PG insurance.

Nothing about him really excites me.

Portis has good mobility and motor for a guy who will list 6'11". He can do a bit of everything. He can get you a double double on a good night and defend all the way out to the 3-pt line. I don't see how he busts, but you're probably drafting him to be a back up.

Remember the old Jazz team that had Adam Keefe and Greg Foster? Portis is a better version of one of those guys.
