Following potential 2015 draftees

I don't know if I'm buying all the Cameron Payne hype. He isn't much bigger than Burke, a little quicker, but his numbers are a near carbon copy of Burke's at Michigan's.
He got to the free throw line once more per 40 minutes than Burke did, at the expense of a higher turnover rate.

In general I am not crazy about moving up with two exceptions - Russell and Hezonja. Part of it is I like several people that are projected to be there for us to pick at 12 and the other thing is, I don't really think most of the prospect ahead are worth what it would take for us to move and get them. For example here's the prices I'd be willing to pay for the players projected ahead of us... lets go with DX mock:

1. Karl Towns PF/C - not happening, it would take one of our core guys and I don't see us starting over(Would you trade Favors + 12 for him?)
2. Jahlil Okafor C - not happening, it would take one of our core guys... and I don't really like him that much
3. D'Angelo Russell PG/SG - same, I think... But I think I would give up hood for him for sure + #12 + 2 additional picks and I still don't think it gets us there.
4. Justise Winslow SF - I like him but I wouldn't trade what it would take to get there
5. Willie Cauley-Stein C - not interested in trading up for him
6. Emmanuel Mudiay PG - not interested in trading up for him
7. Mario Hezonja SG/SF - #12 + 2 firsts + second?
8. Frank Kaminsky PF - not interested in trading up for him
9. Kristaps Porzingis PF - 12 + 1 first
10. Stanley Johnson SF - 12 + 1 first
11. Myles Turner C - I wouldn't trade up for him

I would be willing to trade up for Mudiay if he fell to #5 or #6 and the price was right.

How much would you be willing to give up for him at 6?

#12 + the picks we have from GSW, OKC.

#12 and Hood, possibly.

I think we overvalue the picks we have, it is nice to have extra firsts, but in reality the GSW pick is going to be in the 25-30 range and the OKC pick is going to end up being two second-round picks. We have found some nice talent in the latter part of the first-round recently though.

I would trade Hood in a deal for Towns, Russell, Okafor, Mudiay, and maybe Hezonja.

Ummm.... you sure we're talking about the same Cameron Payne?

I'm going to be totally honest, I did not watch one Murray St. game this year.

I really have no idea if Cameron Payne is going to be good or not.

Why do you like Porzingis?

He's unique. He's really mobile and offensively talented for a 7-foot player. He's more athletic than he's probably given credit for. He'll be tough to guard. He has easy range to become a consistent stretch-4. My only concern is his rebounding. But if you like Mirotic, you'll like Porzingis.

RJ Hunter is a guy who seems like we might surprise some people and take 12th.

His jump shot kind of reminds me of Curry's. He is pretty versatile can create for himself and others, had a Hayward-esque (in his SO year at Butler), but is still a very good shooter.

I would trade Hood in a deal for Hezonja. Hood's a nice player, but he's near his ceiling, imo, and probably is a back-up on a contending team. Just not athletic enough to change the game. On a good night he can look like a middle-class Paul Pierce, but the upside isn't quite there for me. I need to see Porzingis in an NBA setting, but I think he's worth trading 12 + Hood for as well.

Burke I'm ready to part with anyway.

I think the Jazz will value Porzingis more than Detroit or Charlotte. That makes me think a deal can be had at 8 or 9 if Porzingis gets past Denver.

Hayward/Burks with Hood/Hunter off the bench would be a nice young wing rotation. Ingles can make jokes on the bench.

But says you know what I mean alot.

Something is wrong with him.

I hyped up Hunter a bit after he shot 19-25 at the combine. Obviously it's not in a game, but still impressive.

Kid can shoot the ball that's for sure.

I think the Jazz want their guards to rebound, defend and be able to drive somewhat, as well as shoot. This is what gives me pause about Booker and why I'm not sure he'd play ahead of Hood.

Would be super surprised if we trade up for Porzingis. You have to really really like a guy to commit that many assets to a player who is as risky as Porz is.

No one in this draft is good enough to trade up for outside of Russell and Towns.

I think there is zero chance that Mudiay slips past Sacramento at 6 if he falls that far. That would be a dream scenario for the Kings right now.
