Following potential 2015 draftees

We should play some sort of Franchise fantasy game on Jazzfanz over the years.

Everyone starts with the exact same assets that the Jazz have right now. Then you draft and trade whoever you want. Trades are voted on whether or not the other team would accept.

Then every year have a vote of who is in a better position.

It would be funny as hell to see what would happen to some people's teams and who they would draft.

Only if they have some target in mind for FA that they can only get by unloading contracts. Since FA happens after the draft, there is no way for them to be certain of them being able to land whatever big name FA they would target, so I don't think it's going to happen.

ok looking at it from the stand point of divac. they need to make the playoffs. cousins solid down low but not a great defender. they also need a player to stretch the floor.

pg play was awful.

so they come to the jazz offering #6, collinson and Landry for #12, burke, booker, gsw pick and one of the jazz future 1st. jazz draft hezonja and sactown gets Payne. (trade happens when Payne is still on board)

sactown goes after lma, love or Tristan Thompson.

So they really want one of hte worst PG's who gets minutes in the NBA (Trey Burke)? This makes no sense.

Can somebody please decipher this for me?

Locke thinks Portis didn't play against NBA talent other than Kentucky, which is wrong.

Played Damian Jones of Vandy.

Played Jordan Mickey and Jarell Martin of LSU.

Played against North Carolina, not sure if Meeks is a NBA talent, but he is at least borderline.

Damian Jones, Jordan Mickey, Jarell Martin, Meeks,.... are these guys NBA talents?

Never heard of them.

Never heard of them.

Martin is a last 1st according to DX.

Jones is a late teens next year according to DX.

Mickey is the 32nd pick according to DX.

Kennedy Meeks projects as the 23rd pick next year according to DX.

So yeah, those are NBA talent level guys.

If you add Lyles, WCS, Johnson, and KAT, he played against 8 total NBA caliber big men his sophomore season.

I love Favors, but yeah, I'd do that deal without much hesitation.

You would have to. KAT is legit... Top 10 player in the league type material. I love favs but I'd pack his bags for him.

You kind of have to unload Burks, or at least Hood, if you get Hezonja. Otherwise you face a Kanter situation where he becomes so disillusioned with the franchise because of lack of minutes and under performs. Seems like a guy who wants minutes now because he is tired of being benched in Europe. Doesn't strike me as a patient team first, whatever the coach wants, kind of guy.

Absolutely agree. I think he is somewhat similar to Kanter in the sense that he needs to feel appreciated, which is my main concern when it comes to acquiring him, although I don't for-see it becoming a problem with the coaching staff/foundation that we have so long as he is getting a reasonable amount of playing time. Although I do believe that he has the desire to contribute to a winning team & would eventually buy into the team first philosophy as long as he felt that the team was committed to him from day 1.

I like the potential I see in Hezonja, but given the fact that it's just potential and a myriad of factors can derail a player I'm hesitant with the idea of trading a known commodity for this potential.

Burks is great. He draws fouls like crazy - and the shot still goes in. Boozer always screamed "AND 1!!" but Burks lives it.

I'm excited to see him integrated with the team this year, now that he's healthy. But I, like many of you, feel the excitement at watching highlights of Hezonja. Impressive. Just gotta temper it a little bit.

The answer is getting rid of Burke and the position of traditional (backup) PG altogether and distribute the minutes/opportunities for better players/prospects. The Jazz are loaded with ballhandlers that are actually good, why make your life harder just to subscribe to conventional and flawed logic?

This would be fun. Let's do it.
