Following potential 2015 draftees

Actually seems like they might be paving the way for Kaminsky.

Or Derick favors???

Knicks get Tomic, MKG & 9 (Lyles), Charlotte gets favors, Trey Burke & 12 (Booker/Hunter) and Jazz get #4 for their choice of leftovers from Russell, Her Lasagna or Porzingas. Or something like that.

Hot diggity that is bad for us... Favors/12/Burke for number 4... dang.

Favors/Gobert/Hayward/Exum should not be moving in any reasonable deal. If they do get moved either we're hosing somebody or we got hosed.

I could see one of Burks/Hood moved, but I just see that as to me they have kind of similar roles. It actually happening seems highly unlikely due to Burks injury and moving Hood in his second year means we probably wouldn't get great value.

No. Why in the hell would the Jazz give up Favors when they have 17 picks in the next 4 drafts? Keep your core guys (Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Hood, Burks and Exum) and throw some picks at it to improve on that group. If that guy pushes someone down. . . great. But don't count on it. This group is special. Don't move on from any of them until you're forced to. Even if they trade up to 4, there's nothing that says that guy has to start. Make them earn it.

If the Jazz do trade Favors, that should be it. No more sweetening needed. Half this board would revolt as is.

Basically this, I'm not sure I give up any of Hayward/Favors/Gobert for any pick in the draft, yet alone #4. They are all very good players and at best we'd be picking a guy who could be better in a couple of seasons and delaying our contention.

I'd be shocked if we moved up to #4 in order to draft Porzingis. The only way I see us moving up to #4 is if Russell was still there, in which case I imagine NYK would just draft him. I'm sure we like Porzingis & would love to add him to our frontcourt of Favors/Gobert, but I doubt that we would give up the assets likely necessary to move up that high for a 3rd big. The only way it would make sense is if the trade involved Favors & I don't think they will trade him for an unproven rookie. I do expect NYK to trade the pick, but the only way I see us getting involved is if it's as a facilitator in order to move up into the 6-8 range.

EVERYONE:

We are not moving up. NO chance. None.

That is a patent move by a confident FO proclaiming, "BRING ALL OFFERS!!!!"

If some team wants to be STUPID, we will want to be in line to hear the pitch. Why wouldn't we?

But it won't happen and isn't expected to happen by FO.. short of a total fleecing.

Absolutely agreed. Charlotte/Miami might be possible, but that is absolutely the highest we'd be moving to secure a guy we liked.

everyone has a price and is tradable..

I agree, but that price isn't the #4 pick in this draft. The Jazz have 17 picks in the next 4 drafts, including 5 unprotected picks. If that's not enough to get an unproven (but loaded with potential) rookie, then so be it.

The 76ers are constant trying to play "bigger and better" and it bites them in the ***. The Jazz have 6 solid young players - with a defensive center as their cornerstone. They have a crapload of assets to add to that group. I'm okay with swinging for the fences. . . but not when you have a runner on 3rd and all you need is a single.

Keep the core 6 players and then ADD 3 more guys to round out your playoff rotation.

swing and a miss

Source Confirms Jazz Looking To Move Up In Draft

By Jabari Davis

on June 24, 2015

The Utah Jazz may have ended the 2014-15 season seven games out of the Western Conference playoff race (38-44), but fans of the team had to be encouraged by the 21-11 finish to the year and impressive development of their talented young core. Gordon Hayward appeared more comfortable in his leadership role under rookie head coach Quin Snyder, and Rudy Gobert continued to develop at a rate that should have him in the All-Defensive team discussion within the next couple seasons.

General manager Dennis Lindsey mentioned the team’s willingness to spend the bulk of their available cap space this summer if the right opportunity were to present itself, but did not specify which direction the team might be looking. With rumors about a potential mutual interest between the team and soon-to-be free agent Paul Millsap beginning to circulate, we now have a source confirming the organization not only intends to move up in tomorrow’s draft, but could be willing to package assets and players to do so if necessary.

“They have enough depth and have assets on the roster,” said David Locke, the radio voice of the Utah Jazz. “I am certain they are trying to couple those assets, picks and players to move up.”

Locke went on to confirm this with Jordan Buscarini of KOAL 750 AM (the Jazz affiliate).

Locke didn’t go into which current assets such as the picks (12, 42, 54) or current players could be moved, but we are reminded of the rumors surrounding a potential move that would have involved power forward Derrick Favors just prior to last year’s draft. The team may have vehemently denied them last summer, but those dots aren’t exactly difficult to connect if the murmurings about Millsap ultimately come to fruition.

Nobody but you has talked about acquiring Millsap in order to trade Favors. All he has to do is make the direct link to the Knicks. ANd he is on that island with you.

A report from NBA.com states that the trade would have the Knicks dealing the No. 4 overall selection to the Nuggets in exchange for the No. 7 overall pick and Jusuf Nurkic.

Every team in the league would laugh at the jazz if we traded Favors for #4. He was a #3 pick, he's young, putting up 16 and 9, and on a good contract.

If the Knicks think the draft is only 3 deep I kind of like this deal for them. Nurkic looked pretty decent last season, not really sure why Denver would be excited to do it though. If they're planning on blowing the team up Nurkic is the one guy they should be looking to keep.
