Somebody is just being mean now.

Go out and read the first paragraph on most draft prospect in the last 5 years under the strengths category. Reading those makes you think this player can be an all star. Then read the weaknesses; any player could be a bust. Dalabro is just showing his strengths.. don't hate for being optimistic.

Nah, I agree with Dal for the most part. He definitely care about these players than most of us do, so I respect his opinion on evaluating the parts of his game that you can only really see by watching a game. I can see shooting mechanics from a few clips and he doesn't have "unreal mechanics" at all.

"Unreal" or not "unreal". Just doesn't matter.

If he wants to extend his range to the NBA 3pt line it matters a little bit. There aren't too many big men with a 2-motion release who pull the ball behind their head who can shoot NBA 3's (if any at all). Pulling the ball behind your head causes a lack of arc at extended range. That combined with not having any lower body lift to help your jumper, it makes it hard to shoot that far out.

Maybe this is the one Cy's looking at:

Which isn't quite as pretty looking. But still not bad. Has the one leg kick out thing like so many Big men shooters have had before him. In my opinion great, and for a big guy at least bordering on unreal.

That's not Pleiss....

This one is. Sorry for the confusion. For the record, I blame video quality

Terrible camera angle, but he does seems to be shooting it much faster here than he has even in the in-game shots Ive seen him take.

I don't understand what you guys are arguing about. I don't think we are bringing him in to hit jump shots. Even if so I don't think it's any worse than Boozers and we all know how he could hit a mid range shot.

I'm going to wait to see him in person, but it looks like there's some tools to work with. Jazz do have one of the best player development staffs in the game. He just needs to be better than Cooley and Evans from last year to get minutes and contribute. If he contributes to the team on and off the floor like Ingles does, then it's a slam dunk. Jingles was not good to start the season and progressively improved as the year was winding down. Hoping for that kind of growth from all the Jazz players - even the "old" ones.

If we can have the option of a stretch 4, off the bench of course, we just have more options. We're bringing him in for depth AND options.

The guy rates pretty good on defense. Not great/elite like Favors/Goberz. And he's gotten into a fight before, so we know he can be testy. I like the signing.

Finally, after 10 years of going through them, we finally have a replacement for:
