He didn't text me back until I didn't have reception. I didn't see his text till morning when I got home.
 
I'm surprised (but not too surprised) that Rudy was a 1st round pick in this thing. He was definitely my pick at 21 if he got that far. Anybody else between 15 and 21 that was planning to take him?

I was desperately trying to trade up for him. I was praying he'd fall to me.

I think it's a great pick. In real life, I'd pick him over a lot of people. I'd even take him over Harden and Westbrook. I know some think that's crazy. But he's top 10 to me. Best rim protector in the league.

Nah just trying to clarify what happened. Clearly WC must have told Spy that he is OTC, just not sure why Spy was waiting for WC's text again...


Also the going in and out of reception thing is a bit of a mystery... I mean... well, I better leave this trail alone.

What part of not being able to receive texts or emails are you not understanding? Before I lost reception I had not received a single text from WC.

I was almost certain that he was the guy you were gunning for and hoping that I'd still get him at 21. Wasn't sure if his stock had risen that high yet, but it clearly has. I almost took him over Blake Griffin, but opted to play it dangerously and try to get them both. Burned me. Oh well. Still have a few things up my sleeve.

??? WC said he texted you and he said you were surprised that we have started the Draft and were surprised why people were messaging you?


Clearly he texted you before you lost reception?
 
And for the record. . . IF Hack had gotten Anthony Davis and Rudy Gobert, I'd have voted for his team even if his starting wings and point guard were Jingles, Millsap and Burke. That is a beastly front-court pairing.

No. I'm going to say this again. I received ZERO texts from WC while I had reception. It's not that hard to understand.

It's kinda hard to sleep on him. He does play for the Jazz. That's why I felt I had to trade up for him. No way he'd slip to me.

Bro. What are you even arguing? That I was aware that I was on the clock and decided to just not pick someone and intentionally leave you all hanging for a day?

No messages from WC were received while I had reception. Holy ****.

This was my original plan as well. I was hoping it would go James and Durant #1 & #2, because I was trying to work out a trade for the #3 pick to get Anthony Davis. Then I'd have traded whatever I had to move up for Rudy. One Love got his guy at 3 and I had to reshuffle. Seems like I gravely underestimated how high Gobert would go, even though I was willing to take him top 10.

In Spy's defense he never knew we started the current draft let alone starting making picks. I know his job can get pretty busy at times, he probably won't get off for another 2-3 hours. I texted him telling him the recent picks and told him to text me his pick when he gets a chance. Patience is a virtue, plus I like this convo anyways.
