Summer 2015: FIBA games of Utah Jazz players

I think Batum is going to have a good year with Charlotte.

You can tell with the French team Parker and De Colo take the bulk of the playmaking and that leaves Batum with less playmaking opportunities than he is use to. He will be the clear cut 2nd ball handler with Charlotte in the starting unit.

Probably true. And let's hope Rudy has a better year with Utah than what he's shown so far in Eurobasket. His numbers have been underwhelming and he's not playing as many minutes as he should.

Tomorrow's games

Germany vs Turkey 9:45 MT. This should be a real dogfight. Winner gives themselves a shot at 2nd or 3rd slot while loser is looking at 4th or out. 4th seed would most likely have to play France in next round.
Spain vs Italy 1MT. This could be a real shootout. Italy will be missing Datome who is out for Eurobasket and Belinelli is questionable. A win for Italy would be huge and potentially bad for Germany.

That's Fiba ball as well : players neve play that much time and outside shooting is easier (closer 3pt line) + encouraged by the way the lane can be defended, this means that although a guy like Gobert is still an immense force in defense, he can't showcase it as much. This plus the fact that on offense, the lane being easier to defend than in the NBA, it is harder for him with his limited offensive game. it is telling that his replacement, Lauvergne, altough less intimidating defensively, has had better stats in his first 2 games : 3 or 4 years of Fiba play experience in France and Serbia + some outside shooting makes it a lot easier for him to have an offensive impact.

Still it is another great learning experience for Gobert : all the games he is playing right now matter, and once in the 8ths of final, it will be elimination game each time. This makes a player grow so much more than a 82 games slog with incessant travel, etc..

Lol at Alex Jensen who wants an offensive int. in a Fiba game. At first i did not recognize him and i was surprised to see him.
Pleiss got into foul trouble in about 5 minutes.

Schröder's shooting is horrible. We applied the Rondo strategy and he's a scrub...

Gotta learn to finish games. 2 positions we skeedadled the ball pretty successfully to avoid intentionals.. I like it. It is a progress for Turkey. But we need better sets on offense to create space for the coridor in the paint so that small ballers can attack to draw fouls in end games. Best thing about Ali Muhammed is his agression. He might look like a chucker on sheet but he changed a lot of things with his aggression.

Guess he's streaky. The one game I saw him play in he was the best player on the court. Penetrating, passing and hitting key shots.

Sounds like Pleiss might be more of a project than we all thought. Good thing we got that Whitey guy.

Italy putting a show against Spain! They can be the revelation of the tournament.

I love the intensity of the EuroBasket...a lot of tight games!

the games are way more watchable than March Madness.

As a Turk, Italy's victory over Spain isn't good for us.

You're right. He's streaky but a bit too streaky i suppose. He was like 1/9 on jumpshots. Missed wiiiiide open mid range jumpers and 3's, still managed to get 25 pts but he was highly ineffective and Germany were down big from the beginning of the game.

Italy pulls it off. Galli and Belli come up big. My pick of them coming in 4th overall does not look so bad now. Got to beat Germany to be safe though. Spain now only 1-2. Still have Iceland and Germany which should be wins.
