Official Utah Jazz 2015-2016 Pre-Season Thread

The environment is ripe for him to take another step this year. I still dont think hes good enough to our #1 option on a championship team, but id love to be proven wrong.
Hes a great #2 though.
I still think this #1 option / #2 option thing is overdone. Who is the #1 option on Golden State? How about San Antonio? OKC had a perfect #1 option in Westbrook. The guy was killing it with triple-doubles the last two months. And how did they do in the playoffs? Balance is WAY more important unless a star is transcendent.

Per Locke's emptying the noggin:

- Jazz practice tomorrow than head to Hawaii.

- Snyder praised Millsap and was pleased with his decision making.

- Hayward and Favors continue to look really good in camp.

- Snyder wants team depth and ability to play big and small, fast and slow

- Jazz staff is pushing Gobert on "a high level of precision" and to pay attention to details as that's his next step.

Or is it Thompson?
In the regular season you could have said 1A and 1B.

The point I'm trying to make is that a team is better with two or three "main" options. Even IF Hayward were a better 1-on-1 guy, he'd be pretty easy to stop in the absence of other scorers. We had Exum, Millsap and Gobert playing alongside him. All you have to do is shield Favors from getting a pass and play Hayward tight or double him. It's a wonder he got any opportunities at the end of games playing with three non-scorers.

It's curry..... And it's obvious
SA is Leonard, but much less obvious. And it's always been that way in SA, even when Duncan was younger. There were many years you could say SA wanted the ball in the hands of Parker or Ginobili to end possessions.

I'd love to see the Jazz emulate SA. Their leading scorer (regular season) the past two years has been at 17 pts/per. Last year no one averaged 30 mins. This season only Kawhi did at just under 32. I think Utah has the depth to be a similar type team.

Good for Gordon. Let's see if he can back that up. He's close, but still needs to take another step, IMO.

Wow!! Thought we were over this and that I had won this argument. He's great. Live with it

And people still don't trust Favors.

Hayward and Favors are to put it best, scary as a tandem. No love from some.

I agree

Hayward is the #1 option in the jazz.
On many other teams he wouldn't be

Aaron Falk just tweetted that the Jazz's practice tomorrow morning was cancelled. Next stop Hawaii.
