Official UofU homer thread

I'm happy for the win, but that should quell any chatter of Utah deserving to be ranked #1.
No it shouldn't they beat a ranked opponent in a close game. Ohio State has beat 3-4 non-ranked teams in the same manner. I'd still say Utah or Baylor should be #1. Only Baylor hasn't played as many good opponents and doesn't have a win as impressive as Michigan or at Oregon.

You're really weird if you're a Utes fan and not happy about last nights win.

It'd be great to just pummel every team, but I'll take a win over an undefeated, ranked team any way it comes. Cal has a shot at winning the North (I think Stanford takes it though.)

So fun being in the Pac 12!!

Oregon is probably the same quality as Texas Tech.

We've been over this already. I have settled down. That comment was made immediately following a tense game. You and UGLI and the rest of the late-to-the-party gang can chill now.

You even read the rest of the thread, bro?

I honestly think you learn more about your team when they win close games vs very good teams, blowing people out all the time is nice but as the season goes the games get tougher and you gotta know how win these close ones....

Our passing game was ugly last night, but Utah still looks like a top 5 team when you look at the Defense, running game, and Special Teams.

Wilson is going to be up and down until the day he leaves town, but this team can keep winning. IMO, you're gonna have to score 30 points to beat Utah and they've shown that's not going to be easy for anybody. A QB who's probably going to be the #1 overall pick, sporting one of the most potent offenses in the nation just left town failing to score 30 and giving up 6 turnovers in the process.

Don't get me wrong, Travis looking like old Travis, and Utah failing to capitalize more on 6 TO's is something that WILL bite them in the *** if not corrected, but this Defense is insanely special. They're not going to make it easy on anybody.

We've seen three Wilson's this year: Michigan, the game manager Wilson. Oregon, the lights out future NFL draftee Wilson. Cal, the bad footwork and mistake Wilson.

IF he can play like Michigan Wilson and not turn the ball over, I'm not sure we lose another game.

That's how good the rest of our team is.

Also, Cal did what I'm shocked other teams haven't done and played our WR's very physical. Took Covey out of the game. Covey is talented, but super easy to defend. He is just too small. Jam him at the line and he is out of the play. We need to get Covey in motion to free him up.

Interesting that Cal moved up one in the rankings. Take that too mean the polls makers really respect Utah. In the past a ranked team that loses to Utah usually free fall from what I've seen.

We got killed on those rub routes, they're so cheap but legal. We need to incorporate them into our offense more, they're unstoppable if run correctly and Cal was lights out with them all night.

Yeah, but if Utah ever falls behind 2 scores in a game, that is when having a sub-par QB can hurt. Has Utah played from behind all season?

Our DB's need to do a better job selling them to the refs. They aren't legal plays if the WR hits the DB. Our players need to sell that more to end that crap.

I think we've been behind for like 13 mins.

0-3 to Fresno and 7-3 vs Cal.

I think we fall behind ASU this week. ASU is good. How Utah responds is the difference between a good season and a great season.

Ya that's I meant, when ran correctly (legally) they're virtually unstoppable, especially in the redzone.

Yes but not till after making the comment.
