What's new

*** Utah Jazz @ Detroit Pistons Wednesday October 28th 5:30 MT Official Game Thread***

2-12 3PT not gonna get it done. Too hard to generate points especially being a poor free throw shooting team.
The Jazz will eek out some wins due to their defense this year, but I think some changes are inevitable

I knew this game would be tough. Pistons are going to make the playoffs this year with how hard they play. They gang rebound and Drummond takes up so much space down low. If he goes 8/11 every game, Pistons will win a ton of games.

I think the B2B might've helped Detroit tonight. No 1st important game rust and being the 2nd game with a super young team I don't think affected them at all.

Nah B2B's hurt more than any benefit you can think of. Detroit was like.. 6-16 on B2B's last year.

It's hard on the players to micromanage those last couple of minutes.

Game was lost with our backup-PG getting 0 buckets, and playing bad D. We simply need more from Burke.

Ugh, seemed like we just couldn't get the offense going all night. There were some positives... Burke definitely needs to play average to help our bench.

We need anything from Burke.

Aside from Burks our bench had 4 points. 4.

Pistons blew out the Hawks in Atlanta last night. They aren't a bad team.

Looking forward to Philly.

That was really poorly played game by the Jazz. Didn't deserve the win.

Still could've stole it though.. They got beat on the boards.. didn't defend the 3pt line well enough.

Trey was a no-show

Gordon with a sub-par performance.

The issue was really them closing out the 3rd quarter so poorly, that was unnecessary, the defense worked too hard all game to let it slip away like that.

I thought that was a good game from a learning standpoint. Both teams were feeling each other out for a while. The Jazz's best line-up is far and away the triple wing with Hayward, Hood and Burks, as they give use the best offensive options combined with Favors and Gobert on defense. If we'd played that line-up more, I think we would have won the game. All three of those wings can start at the 3-pt line, attack the close out and run a pick-and-roll.

Well, much like last year, the games are close at the end. That keeps it interesting, which is good.

If i had to pin this loss on something it would be 3 point shooting.

And on the one hand, i expect hayward, ingles and hood to do a bit better than 0-10. But on the other hand, Neto going 2-2 is also unexpected.

That terrible close to the 3rd quarter was all on Trey. Blake penetrated easily on 3 possessions that led to 2 dunks and a wide open 3.

Detroit are a lot better than a lot of people would have expected. Apparently Exum's defense not allowing the opposing PG to have their way was kind of important .....
