What's new

The Jazz are trading D-Will to New Jersey!?

Meh. Not unless he wins a ring before the Jazz get a championship. Then the Jazz franchise will look extremely pathetic. No?

Jazz are not winning a championship. The only piece we had to make us a contender just got traded for very little value in return. This team is headed into perennial lottery.

True, but he won't win it in NJ.

Definitely not. But whats to say he doesnt join the lakers once his contract is up? I mean, if you play the game off odds, who has better odds of claming that trophy? Williams or the Jazz? I hate to say it but Im betting Williams.

I really ****ing hope not.

That said, I know this, Harris is gone once his contract is up.

Two draft picks and a guy that looks clueless. Harris is a waste of time and money, $3 million will go towards a new rock crawler for Inheritance.

We don't have a coach to give this team any structure. It's amazing to me how we could lose BOTH Sloan and Deron when it appears that they were each the primary reason for the other's departure. What a joke.

I hope you guys like the Seattle Supersonics.

Who's to say they weren't with DWill? He hadn't been exactly tearing it up recently and with the uncertainty of next year this season could have been his last year here anyway.

Most of the messages on the national boards are congratulating New Jersey on a steal. Oh well...

Of course it was a steal!!! Nets gave up very little of value. The picks are actually not that great. GSW one is probably going to bee after 10, and even NJ's own is right now looking like #6 overall. Maybe worse if Deron turns things around over there. Basically we are looking at a couple of guys like Hayward, Favors (who is probably even worse than Hayward), and Harris for the best PG in the League, and one of League's superstars. Of course it is a steal, and most people who don't have their head stuck in the ***, understand it.

So was D-Will? We don't know that. Harris is a good point guard and I love Deron Williams more than anyone here, but this was smart smart smart. The Jazz can't afford to go through years of losing like the cavs will.

Worth the gamble for NJ. They weren't going anywhere and needed a star to take to Brooklyn. Now they have 2 years to beg DWill to stay.

If the writing was on the wall anyway, this trade is great for us. Favors is one of the biggest, athletic guys in the league and he's what, 19? He has a pro body and a ton of upside imo and from what I remember, is all about playing good defense. Whether that's translated to the NBA is another question but kid has massive potential.

Harris is solid and I'll leave it at that.

The two picks could be great. So it looks like we'll have a lotto pick this year, the Nets lotto pick this year, and hopefully the Warriors lotto pick next year but not our own because it will go to Minny, right? Am I wrong here? Am I forgetting any picks? The Memphis one is gone, right?

The only other thing is the draft this year blows so I almost hope we trade one of these two lotto picks this year to pick up a 1st from a typically crappy team for next year instead.

Calm down, man. I agree...

Bring back Sloan, for the love of god. Because, somehow, I doubt Corbin's ability to implement a system or culture where Favors might flourish.

This team went from having one of the most ingrained traditions and identity in the NBA to a faceless project.
