OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

Alright some movement in the games last night! I'd call it an even night for Utah.

Rockets (AHAHAHAHAHA), Thunder , Blazers and Lakers lost.

But the Suns (this team could be a problem), Spurs, Grizzlies (another problem team) and Mavs (yet another) all won.

I am getting the feeling that our biggest competition is the Suns, Grizzlies and Mavs.

Tonight's games:

Wolves @ Heat
Nuggets @ Pelicans
Raptors @ Warriors (regardless of who wins I want the Warriors to wear down the Raptors, they are in Utah tomorrow night)

Not a lot going on tonight but tomorrow has 8 games to keep an eye on. Including our Utah Jazz!!!

The Suns have only played 3 road games against 7 home games. Their record will even out on their inevitable long road trip.

I've got to say, there does seem to be a lot more room for us in the playoff picture than i had expected at the beginning of the season. Largely thanks to the pelicans and the grizzlies i suppose, but there is no reason we shouldn't be aiming for the 6th seed (I would say 5th but i just don't see houston staying this bad all season)

So the Wolves, Warriors and Nuggets won last night. Pelicans lost.

Aside from Raptors fighting hard and losing and wasting all that energy (they play Utah tonight) the night didn't go well for the Jazz.

Tonight's games!:

Wolves @ Magic
Mavs @ Celtics
Kings @ Hawks
Blazers @ Rockets (Ugh, Jazz win either way but I hate the Rockets)
Pelicans @ Thunder (Davis is injured so the Pelicans are going down like a prom date)
Nuggets @ Spurs
Raptors @ Jazz
Bulls @ Suns

Big night tonight, Jazz can make some movement in the stands if they and the bolded teams win.

Alright! Big win for the jazz last night!!! They came from behind took the lead and played that great D and made some baskets. 5 of the Jazz's 6 wins have come against teams .500 or better. (Nuggets, Grizzlies, Pacers, Hawks and Raptors). So Jazz are 5-3 against .500 or better teams. heck, they are 10 total points, a few changes of possession from being 8-0 against .500 or better teams.

They showed what a bunch of people have been asking for and are on a 2 game win streak!!!

Wolves, Kings, Blazers, Pelicans, Nuggets and Suns all lost. The Wolves, Nuggets and Suns losses help the Jazz the most. Meanwhile the Spurs, Mavs, Thunder and Rockets all won.

Jazz moved from 9th to 6th because of last night. Kings, Pelicans and Blazers are starting to fall behind. The Suns, Nuggets, Grizzlies and Thunder are all right there with the Jazz.

Tonight's games:

Kings @ Heat
Warriors @ Clips

Tomorrow will be better for game action as the Jazz have a huge game against the Mavs in Dallas and 14 western teams play. Only the Thunder are not playing.

SO Friday night is a first round matchup game against the #3 Dallas Mavericks at their place. Favors gonna make the German cry. . .

OK! Kings lose, again. The Warriors are unstoppable and buzzsawed thru the Clippers.

Tonight's games:

Jazz @ Mavs
Rockets @ Grizzlies (win win but I like the Grizz and hate the Rockets)
Pistons @ Wolves
Spurs @ Pelicans (Pelicans suck, is AD out due to injury?)
Knicks @ Thunder
Suns @ Nuggets (Suns are tied with Utah and Nuggets are a 1/2 game behind)
Clips @ Blazers
Bulls @ Warriors (let them only lose the 4 games to the Jazz!)
Raptors @ Lakers (because Lakers are the worst hahahah)

So the Kings (not the Thudner like I previously said) are the only western team not playing tonight.

The Jazz could move into 4th (with no tie) with a win and a Suns, Clips and Thunder loss. That would mean the Mavs lost and the Jazz would only be a 1/2 game behind them for the 3rd seed.

A loss and the Jazz probably fall out of the top 8. Seeds 3-11 are only separated by a total of 3 games. Pretty tightly packed still. Seeds 12 & 13 have fallen off and 1 & 2 are pulling away from the pack a little.

Big night tonight!!!! GO JAZZ!!!!!

I was busy this weekend and wasn't able to update this but I am back!

So this weekend saw a bunch of key teams lose. Despite the tough loss to the Mavs, who I believe the Jazz are better than, our boys are still the 7th seed. Only 2 games out of 3rd.

Last night:

Biggest thing, Thunder played the Mavs and won. But it was a close game and the Thunder had to earn it. Hopefully that means they are tired tonight against the Jazz. Our team should be fired up as it is the seasons first meeting with Kanter.

Clippers, Suns, Nuggets and Lakers lost. Warriors, Blazers, Thunder and Pelicans won.

Tonight's games:

Kings @ Hornets
Sixers @ Wolves
Suns @ Spurs
Thunder @ Jazz

NBA is about 15 games in and am I the only one surprised by the league? Pelicans, Clippers and Rockets all having losing records. East has much more parity and is actually performing better than the West right now.

With how everything in the league is going the Jazz can absolutely finish higher than 7th or 8th. How does 5th sound to anyone? 4th?
OP updated.

Yeah, there have been a lot of surprises in the NBA thus far. I like it. I hope it continues (particularly the Rockets and Clippers falling apart).

I know power rankings are pretty meaningless, but i still felt good when i saw that espn had us 4th highest in the west, and nba.com had us 5th.

Jazz have done great. They are right were we all wanted them to be. Just wait till the schedule evens out and we start playing the Nets, Lakers, Pelicans, Bucks, Kings, Rockets (hahahaha)...

Considering the Jazz have played the 2nd most road games and the least amount of home games in the NBA to this point, a 6-6 records isn't that bad...

C'mon JazzFanz, don't run out of steam already with this! Big time win in LA tonight. Houston lost (LOL!!!!!!). Life is good! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and their families!

We moved above Memphis last night %wise to the 5th slot.
A game behind Dallas, 2 behind OKC.
Edit: Need Philly to end their streak tonight, barring a miracle, back to 6th.

It's interesting that early in the year the East takes a better record to make the playoffs. I don't remember the last time that happened. Still early on though.
