Following 2016 potential draftees

Since I know the Jazz fans love white players. Keep an eye on redshirt frosh For the Illini, Michael Finke. 6foot10, from a hoops family, Sweet shot and is improving. This would be a pick few years away but since yall love the white gusy keep an eye on him.

Then we would have to watch tape of Illinois. No thanks, I'd rather take a random black dude.

PGAB-

Simmons is the most talked about player on the board because his ability at his height to handle the ball like he does and penetrate is unheard outside of anyone not named Lebron.

That's overstating things. You think he's already better at penetrating NBA defenses than Paul George, Durant, Draymond and Giannis? I don't, I'd say thats an absurd claim to make at this point --- When did you draw this conclusion anyway? While watching him mop lesser, under-sized competition(while his team loses?)??

Do you think he's lightyears ahead of Gordon Hayward?

you think he's better than Ethan Happ on Wisconsin? Or Moritz Wagner on Michigan? How about Luke Kornet on Vandy??

I've watched the Illini a few times this year, and Finke's hit a 3 in every game -- I'll check out this game where he drops 25 in a bit. In the ISU game I watched he got in foul trouble quick;y. It really sucks for them Mike Thorne wen't down, they coulda been a possible early round upset type of team.

If Happ develops a jump shot he is my man in 3 years.

As someone who doesn't follow the NCAA closely outside of March Madness, top prospects, & potential Jazz targets, who should I be keeping an eye on? Obviously it's difficult to predict where Utah will pick due to the Gobert injury, but the FO's M.O. has clearly been to select high-character players who fit our system & also have high ceilings. I know it's extremely early to be asking this, but what players could fit that description within the #10-20 range?

Even with Gobert's injury we should still at least grab the 8th seed which in years past I would have rather missed and drafted higher, but this year is the year for that 8th seed. I kind of like Zimmerman or Luwawu around 15th right now.

If the season ended today the Jazz would be in the playoffs and the lottery. 7th seed and the 14th worst record in the league.

Finke on Illionis does look like a decent find, I like how he shoots, he stays aligned well. He's kinda hunched over at times, kinda runs funny but he's not all that limited in college. Probably a safe bet to be better than players like Wiltjer and Uthoff after a few years of college ball.

Taurean Waller-Prince is definetly back into the 1st round after that performance vs Vandy. He just makes things happen.

Wade Baldwin IV has a chance to move into the top-20. I can see why he was overlooked by the scouting services at first, because he's kinda upright in his movements, He's very very efficent though, I like the way he sees the game, I'd say he really looks like a floor general this season. He's also clearly a late-bloomer, and his shooting is one of the aspects of his game thats really improved.

Wasn't too impressed by Damian Jones, He's got potential though.

Happ has the benefit of having a great coach who develops players. So to me he be the best of the group. I like Finke future more then Wagner and Kornet. Just imagine how Finke could progress if he had some decent coaching.

This is something the NBA needs to amend. Why reward all the losers? If your in the bottom 14 in record you should be in the lottery, regardless of playoff seeding. It's one of things the NFL does better.

You cant change the rules yourself even if you think you can!

Another batch of interesting updates on DX's mock 3 days after the last revision.

-Brandon Ingram's up to #2

- Wade Baldwin's now up to 18, as I detailed on the last page, he's clearly a later bloomer and trending upward. I agree with the top-20 ranking right now. I kinda think he's a better, longer armed version of Melo Trimble, if he continues to shoot like this (and I like his chances to do so).

- Taurean Prince back to his preseason range at #25, great showcase game for him vs Vandy yesterday.

- They have Kris Dunn at #5 over Jamal Murray, I think its too early for that. Murray's been showing flashes.

-Damian Jones over Zimmerman is dumb.

- Finally they've given up on Jake Layman in the 1st round, that was dumb. Same for Chianu Onuaku

- Damion Lee in the 2nd round! He's legit, I thought he'd be in the 2nd round pre-season. Far from a one trick pony.

- 5 players that are 23 already in the 2nd round, Damion Lee, A.J. Hammons, Mike Gjbinije, Kyle Wiltjer and Gary Payton III.

If combined Happ and Finke into one player. Wow that be really good either way I think they both play in the league for a long time. Happ the overall better prospect at this time but Finke could always improve better. Never knows how it goes. Finke also has a little brother who is a top 25 player. 6 foot 6 guard. Finke was a guard until his late growth spurth. Believe he was 6foot6 as a junior in Hs. So he could possibly still be growing. Happ a great dna background but so does Finke who father played football and basketball for the illini and is now head coach at a local school. So Finke could be aa monster.
