That being said, IDK why they would give us a 1st round pick for a guy they can just cut next year. Are they currently in the tax? I know we are one of the teams with enough cap space to absorb salaries.
I don't see that as the worst case scenario. I see he comes here pulls a Kanter destroys moral in our young locker room and the team falls apart this season and we end up starting over again as the worst case scenario. For some reason people dont want to use being in Utah to our advantage. Great lockerroom and a city that doesnt have much nightlife.
What is the risk? Worst case scenario is he basically the same player Burke is now and we cut him next year and we get a 1st round pick.
There is enough in SLC to distract if one wants distraction. It's not up to other big city standards but it's still a big city.
Ugh.
I have no problem with taking risks. But taking risks on low character players with a history of locker room problems who also are not performing is a bad risk. That's like betting the house on 00 in roulette. It's frustrating how people say things like "I want a championship" but you are unwilling to take risk. We are a small market team, sometimes you have to roll the dice. Nothing wrong with taking on 1 potential bad apple if the rest of the bunch is good.

Gotta take risks somewhere. You can't just get the most ideal deal every time. Ty Lawson could bounce back and doesn't hurt us at all salary wise. He is not going to magically transform our players into drunk drivers.

He was well on his way to it. Then he was traded an almost as if by magic the team started playing as a team.Kanter destroyed our moral? This is news to me.

How the **** did Kanter destroy moral? It was a moral boost for us, we could use that again.

Tibor Pleiss would also work next to Trey Burke to make the salaries match.
You mean when he finally left?
