We can keep Burke. S'all gud.
Sources: Rockets, Jazz had casual talks on Ty Lawson, but those ended. Both teams moved on. Another thing: Rockets won't buy out Lawson.

Presumably, Houston wants to get under the Luxury Tax threshold. They're only a few mil over right now, are probably ready to punt the season, and have promised to let Lawson become a free agent this summer regardless. Holding onto Lawson and ending up above the Luxury Tax would be a bad outcome.I agree there would seemingly have to be something. I think my preference given contract/fit might be Dekker, though I was lukewarm on him in the draft. But that might be the least likely offer from Houston.
Wasn't there something to the rumor that Houston was motivated to make the trade for the sake of possibly allowing another move elsewhere? If it turns out Houston doesn't have this need, then the chances of this trade are very low, I'd suspect.
If the Jazz are trading Trey anyway, they'd almost certainly rather get Lawson than nothing.Prediction now is either we do nothing, or we move Burke for nada right before the deadline.

Maybe Houston backed out.If the Jazz are trading Trey anyway, they'd almost certainly rather get Lawson than nothing.
I'd guess they'd rather keep Brewer, Ariza and Beverley. Ty's on his way out in the summer. He's the obvious choice if they can find a deal.If Houston can just waive Lawson so that it doesn't affect them next year, wouldn't it make more sense for them to trade someone like Brewer, Ariza, Beverley or MacDaniels if their hope is to shed salary and clear cap space?
Doesn't make sense. Houston has no incentive to keep Lawson. If they can dump him without giving anything else up, they'll do it.Maybe Houston backed out.
They say they aren't going to buy him out. Maybe they don't hate him as much as we were led to believe.Doesn't make sense. Houston has no incentive to keep Lawson. If they can dump him without giving anything else up, they'll do it.
Maybe Houston doesn't want Burke because they don't want his salary, as small as it is.

People saying that we still are looking for a PG. Looking at Shelvin Mack. Burke must really want out.
I doubt it. I'm thinking maybe Lawson doesn't want to come to Utah.
Evidence points to the contrary. They're paying him a ton to play like **** in a small role. They want out, there is no question.
