OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

Clippers are locked into the 4th seed. Decent chance DeAndre Jordan and/or Chris Paul rest against us.
Warriors talked about resting Curry against us but changed their mind game time. Pops told the players they were going to rest against the Jazz since it was a meaningless road game and changed his mind to start the game and then played the starters lots of minutes. I think teams don't like the Jazz and or don't want to see them in the playoffs. I am guessing we aren't going to see the Clips rest against us. Frankly I really want to make the playoffs but I want the team to earn it and I want teams to play their best against us.

This.

Frankly I really want to make the playoffs but I want the team to earn it and I want teams to play their best against us.

Yes, but it is unfair if the same teams that didn't rest their best players against us, they decide to rest them against Dallas, Houston or Portland in these last crucial games. It distorts the race for the playoffs.

We already deserve the playoffs after all the injuries and the moral victories.

Pretty sure Pop never said that.

Yeah, if I was a western conference playoff team, I would want no part of playing first round playoff games in Utah. The Jazz consistently play hella hard and have an excellent home environment.

DeAndre Jordan is out tonight against the lakers, they didnt say why. Maybe he got a run in his nylons and couldnt find his ring.

Here is what Parker said about Pop:
"He said he wanted to play. So if we played Utah, I don't see any reason now we're not going to play Golden State. Before, we were going to rest everybody like against Utah and Golden State. But I guess he changed his mind. Everybody's playing now."

Who cares who rests? These last 7-8 games are just like playoff games. There's just as much pressure to win. Jazz went toe-to-toe with the top 2 teams in the league. And those teams were playing to win.

If Utah can't win out, they don't deserve to make the playoffs. If they lose to the Clippers, win 3 and still get in, great. Hayward and Hood are getting shot opportunities with games on the line. That's what we want to see. The more of those they get, the less they'll tighten up in the future.

So who are you guys rooting against tonight? I think it has to be the Mavs.

Houston's last 4 games are vs.Suns, vs.Lakers, @Timberwolves, vs.Kings. There's also no way Harden/Howard are going to let this team miss the playoffs since it would be so damaging to their legacies. Dallas is also technically favored in this game (58% favorites) by 538 so we would gain a game on them if they lost one as a favorite. Either way, I guess it will all come down to that April 11 game we have vs the Mavs but I think it would be most beneficial to us if they lost tonight.

I think we have to root the Rockets tonight. They have an easy schedule so they will almost sure make the playoffs.

We have to play our playoff chances with Dallas. If we beat them in the face-off we will own the tiebreaker.

I want the mavs to win

If Dallas wins, there's a good chance the Jazz will miss the playoffs even if they go 3-1 and beat the Mavs. If Houston wins, Utah can go 3-1 and will be guaranteed a playoff spot as long as they beat Dallas.

I want the 6th seed.
I think dallas winning helps achieve that goal more than Houston winning.

Don't know why I think that. Don't even know if I'm right to think that lol.

I just feel that Houston will win every game after tonight and dallas won't. And since we play dallas head to head I feel like we have some control over how they finish the season

I simulated the rest of the season -- if Houston wins our odds to make the playoffs increase, based on 538 odds.

Go Rockets!
