When my wife cleans up my stuff without telling me she's doing it and puts it all in a box that should be labeled "1001 random things that belong to Gameface, 100 random things that he's never seen before and a whole bunch of garbage"
I found a container today that had several items I've spent hours looking for and ended up having to rebuy. Stuff that I told her I knew I had and that I really needed but after looking "everywhere" I haven't been able to find. She has no clue where it is.
Several examples:
When I was putting together my electric brew system I bought a **** ton of gray thread tape specifically for water fittings. When I was installing the tankless water heater I was looking for it relentlessly because I still had three unused rolls of it. I looked, I looked, I looked. Well, today I found it all.
I had to fix something for her that required some soldering work. I had a little roll of silver solder that I tried to find so that I could fix it for her. I looked, and looked, and looked. I told her I knew I had some and I knew where I left it. She had no idea where it might be. Today I found it.
Just yesterday I was replacing all the tubing in my kegerator and I decided to replace all the disconnects as well. I had several extra never used liquid disconnects, but I couldn't find them. So I added them to the list of stuff I bought at the homebrew store. Three of them at $6.99 each. Today, the very next day, I found them.
All in the same box.
Also in the box, a package of 20 AAA batteries that aren't "mine." Like why jam batteries in with my stuff? I found a catalog from 2011. I found the packaging for stuff I don't even have anymore. I found random papers that no one would ever think anyone would want to keep, and if they DID want to keep them there's no way they would ever find them in this random box of stuff.
There is a filtering system for finished beer (a plate filter) that it's very important doesn't get scratched up and doesn't get exposed to "dirty" stuff because it's made out of plastic and is used on the cold-side of the beer making process. that's what the container was for specifically, to keep that item safe. But she dumped a bunch of sockets, wrenches box knives, random screws, and all the aforementioned stuff in there. I honestly would never dare use that filter system again. There are actually two plate filters and my custom made connections for them, it cost well over $100. It's just junk now.
I'm super pissed. Thanks for letting me rant. I'll try to be nice when she gets home from work today.
