Following 2016 potential draftees

Jazzfanz need to create a scapegoat fuels so much idiocy.

"Jazz need to get rid of Favors to ever win. I mean, he is only on of the best contracts in the NBA, but the Jazz didnt make the playoffs this year. It has to be someone's fault. Favors has been here for a while now, must be his fault."

I'm excited to see what happens with G-Time. I hope Jazz don't pay him too much. And I kinda hope they can sign and trade him for something good.

He's a free agent, so this is on-topic.

Back when good ole Bentley thought the 16 million max was too much for Hayward. Always with the great foresight this one.

Hayward is really good guys. He's not your traditional alpha scorer and almost definitely can't be the best player on a championship team but that doesn't mean you move him. Tbh there are only 7-10 guys that can be that.

If DL believes Murray to be a transcendent talent that will increase the teams ceiling and fits our ever moving window then go for it but we'd take a step back next year... Rookies just don't translate into wins unless they are Tim Duncan or KAT and those guys are generational talents.

I really like Murray doe and if he falls past 5 I'd be willing to move hood to get him (I think only NO and Sacramento would go for it).

So yeah, Bentley is an OG Gordon Hayward hater. Hated him during his last FA and hated that we re-signed him to a max back then (also hated him when we drafted him). I think the words "max" just trigger some lower IQ posters and they think since the player isnt Lebron or KD they don't deserve one.

It's funny how the Hayward haters always scuttle out like cockroaches when times get dark only to flee back when the light of God shows itself.

Not about cost, but value.
Think.

Hayward's value I put at maybe 7 million. Maybe someone will pay him more, maybe the Jazz will match, but it has to be within reason. If some GM is stupid enough to give Hayward upwards of 12M then that's their mistake. It'd be nice to flip him for an asset, since then he doesn't just walk for nothing in return, but I don't think the Jazz do lose much not having Hayward on the team. Meh is right.

That great insightful Bentley post y'all.

We didn't play the cap right this year and were left with excess cap space... We likely are under the cap again next year. So currently his cap number isn't holding us back.

If someone wants to say they don't want to give him 5 years and 150 M next year because it's not good enough value... I can see that.

Hayward is great defensively. I concede that. Offensively, if he's your #1 you might make the playoffs, but probably have to settle on the 12th pick.

Look, you don't give out the max until you have a player who is a clear cut top 10 player. Until then you just keep trading your max worthy players for young UK talent. That is managing with swagger and without fear.

If you tell me we trade Hayward for Murray and then use Gordon's vacated salary spot for Batum (he's not as good as Gordon) then maybe I see more value. I think we could get Murray without moving Hayward or favors.
