Following 2016 potential draftees

Beasley underwent surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right leg at the conclusion of his final season at Florida State, but he's reportedly shut down his workouts due to a promise from another club that they'll draft him. He will continue to meet with and interview with teams selecting in the lottery, and word out his camp is that he believes he'll fall somewhere in the middle of the first round. Beasley's shooting mechanics are sound, and he has a high motor, but he needs to improve as a shot creator, playmaker and defender

I think they only guy I'd be pissed that we picked would be Richardson. Skal I would understand but have zero hope for.

I'd rather move the pick for a one year rental of George hill if that's what we are going to do.

Korkmaz I have no idea on, but if we drafted him I hope we leave him overseas for a year and sign a two year stopgap veteran.

With Korkmaz, he has much of the same appeal that Mario Hezonja had--size, shooting, athleticism. Plus, he seems a better passer and shooter off the bounce. The Jazz really liked Hezonja last year, and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they pounce on the Korker.

How unfortunate is it that the Jazz tanked a season, got lucky in the lottery, got the #3 pick and ended up drafting Enes Kanter?

*shudders*

Do you Jazzfanzers think that Jazz players see that the last few championship teams don't have a roster of maxed players?

I'm sure DL has pointed that out to the core and hopefully they buy in.

I know a little too optimistic for the folks around here.

Isn't there a chance that the cap could go up again sooner than 5 years and in that case maybe he would rather not get the 5 year max so he could get his next bigger contract sooner?

You'd need a huge revenue stream. TV contract won't be up. Digital stuff is covered by it. You can't randomly triple ticket prizes in most places. What are the chances that merchandizing explodes?
Probably adding a new division on another continent is the biggest salary cap addition that's possible and even that is not going to happen instantly, as you have to win market shares from domestic competition, you have to compete for viewers with other sports.
China has probably the biggest potential market, but Political landscape and culture rule it most likely out in the near future. In EUrope you have huge soccer competition.
Australia isn't big enough as a market.
I bet Virtual reality has clauses in the TV contract, if there's gonna be technological advancements that allow you to select your seat on the sideline or anywhere above the floor to watch it in real 3D. Teams are probably not too happy if you can sit on your couch with a VR goggle and watch as if you've got courtside seats minus the opportunity to heckle players.

Ok.
Then pick one.

a) he walks and we get nothing in return
b) we sign him to a 5yr 150M deal

If you know he walks it's obviously a good deal. If you're confident you can retain him and like the room for development of the rest of the team, you negotiate with Gordon.

I totally understand the concept of wanting to trade Hayward, but this just isn't the draft to do it.

Trading Hayward for Murray is retarded. I'm sorry, but it is. Murray will never be as good as Hayward is. This is a really weak draft, full of role players. If we're going to trade Hayward, we can find a better deal. Let's at least be smart about this.
