BUMP: This Thread when the Lakers SUCK!

- They getting vets to tutor the young men in locker room
- Counting on Ingram to develop
-- Looking to add another nice piece like maybe a Jayson Tatum
---Then a big time free agent signing
Then you have a core of Free agent, Tatum, Ingram to go along with some role players they drafted and developed like Randle, Clarkson, Nance.
They are looking to a championship in future. Making the playoffs isn't good enough in Laker land, They strive for better and more.
History shows they are big time free agent destination.
Yall can laugh at the Lakers all you wantnow but they have shown in history they are one of the ELITE teams in all of sports and bet they get a chip before the Jazz,
Lakers stood by and was loyal to Kobe and hey he was a big reason no free agents would come but Lakers is a brand name and they are in year 1 of minus Kobe. In 5 years they will be competeting for Chips while Jazz are content just making playoffs

Your mom was content just making you.

Just think of the free agent she had to take to make that happen, yuck.

Actually, these signings are more about Jim Buss trying to keep his job. Jeannie has threatened to wrest control of basketball operations from him if he can't put together a playoff-caliber team. IINM, he was given a 2-yr window. Things could get very ugly in LA internally.

Well, by the end of his 4 year deal he will be the age of Joe Johnson, the guy we just signed to a 2 year deal.
Deng's 4 year deal (if we had signed him) would severely damage our long term chances. Johnson's 2 year deal at a lower price is far better for us.

I would take Joe Johnson at 11 M for 2 years before I take a Deng at 4 years for more money. JJ's wheels haven't fallen off yet and players have their wheels fall off at different ages. I would argue that JJ can play 2 positions that are a better need for the Jazz than Deng. JJ can play 3 and 4 where Deng can play 2 and 3.

I think you got that position flexibility crossed up.

Lol. U realize all of the big names in free agency spurned the Lakers. I don't even think anyone of DeRozen, Whiteside, and Durant even considered the Lakers. DeRozen even went out of his way to spurn the laker name and history basically saying he wanted no part of the tradition of legends that came through laker land. So what do the lakers do? They overpay badly a center that couldn't get off the bench in cle, then the best free agent they get is a well past his prime Deng. Lol don't give me the Business that they want to just sign some vets to help the youngsters improve and learn to win. Lol they had every intention to sign a star and flopped badly. The laker brand is dead.
Already did.
You are the dumbest

And biggest idiot.

You are the idiot if you think the Lakers brand is dead, Within couple years they are going be good. Justy like how it took Celtics and they are still building yup. Face it your weak jazz history is a joke compared to the Lakers..

Just keep telling yourself that. Lol. And tell that to DeRozen. He's not convinced of the laker ms either.

We will revisit this in 5 years. Derozan is on a team who just got to the ECF.. Lakers are in year 1 it is going take a few year s but we can revisit this and you will see how dumb you are.. When it doesn happening I am going clown you non stop. Put you in retirement,.

That depends on how they get there. If they sign a mega star, fair enough, but if they get lucky and make a good pick or make a trade, then u haven't a leg to stand on.

Also u said two years for the lakers to be back because they would sign a star. So I guess I can't stop u from laughing in my face 15 years from now. I'll go ahead and laugh in yours now, and then two years from now, which is what u originally said.

If the Laker bran isn't dead as u say it isn't, then u should have the confidence to stick with that two year plan of yours?

Bruh Deng played the 3,4, and 5 for Miami. He is way more positionally versatile than JJ. I'd rather have the 2 year deal cuz of cap flexibility, but I don't think Deng falls off hard because of age.

Here is the absolute FACT

Neither the Jazz or the LAkers are 'Chip contenders this year or the next year. For a couple years it is safe to say this..
The Lakers with the market and history they have will sign a mega star. They have shown they are willing to pay and players have shown to want to go to LA in the past. They was loyal as hell to Kobe and took the losing at the end of his career and rode by him. It was hard for them to get a free agent because of how much a D*ck Kobe is when it comes to the game. Which isn't a bad thing at all but it is not the way of these kids today. If Ingram develops like most think and they get another High lottery pick next year then all off sudden next year free agents and the year after tha, Lakers will be looking real good...

It is safe to say and we can all agree on this, Neither are contenders this year? WE agree on this right?

I was watching summer league and they mentioned he also played some SG when he had too. He is far more Versatile then JJ.. I agree about Deng not falling off, He has also always acted like a pro and is a high character guy. He would fit with the culture yall trying to build.. Would be a great mentor for Hayward, imo.

They are looking to a championship in future. Making the playoffs isn't good enough in Laker land, They strive for better and more.
History shows they are big time free agent destination.

In the grand scheme of things, the lakers franchise is the bees knees of franchises, just like the Celtics franchise is. The Jazz will never be able to match them in terms of C's...well at least in my lifetime. This cannot be argued. Anyone who does is a moron.

That being said, Mrs. Jackson's hit song is apropos because like in most sports, what've you done lately is important...especially to the fan.

Aren't all teams looking for a championship in the future? Don't be obtuse. The idea that players want to play in destination cities like LA or NYC is an oft used point that no longer holds weight in today's times. LA is NO longer a free agent destination and to claim otherwise shows a lack of realistic thinking. Things might change when Jimmy is gone but currently, why the **** would anyone want to play for the lakers? They're an also-ran team of epic proportions.
