Call Your Shot (Presidential Race)

I guess you should have sent a PM if you wanted to avoid hearing from anyone else.
Well you didn't really respond to it either. You just started talking about what a president from many decades ago did when the world was a much different place. Ya I think reagan was a good president. What that has to do with how jamezz feels about trumps thoughts on starting wars with countries that disagree with him and bullying them I don't know. I just find it interesting that someone who says that they don't like trump defends him constantly even when there is no reason at all to. I wasn't even attacking trump. Simply asking jamezz a question.

You can't resist

I didn't say anything about Trump either. I felt like the comment was relevant to your post but please accept my sincerest apologies as you've made it obvious how painful it was for you to read my thoughts. Have a good day.

Stoked says Trump is getting his *** kicked everywhere, but an individual poster's claim is proof of nothing. The polls show differently. Hillary's overall margin is frighteningly thin, especially given the fact that she's outspending him by an enormous margin so far. Anyone who thinks Trump has no chance of winning is fooling themselves at this point. The same thing goes for anyone who thinks Clinton has no chance of winning.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/president/

49 polls where Clinton has the lead since July 13th. Trump has 12. 1 of those is for ID and 1 is for KS, 2 very republican states. So really only 10 that matter.

Clinton is leading in VA, NC, FL, CO, MI and WI

Roughly tied in OH, PA and IA.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jun/11/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-disaffected-voters

Clinton has huge leads %s wise (15%+) among Blacks, Latinos, Muslims, Asians, LGBT community, Jews, Atheists/agnostics, Divorcees, women (by all categories), those making under 24k a year, all singles, separated from spouse, domestic partnerships, non white males,

Trump carries (15%+) Vets, white males and white non college grads. Basically white, married, Christian men.

If your post had nothing to do with trump then why bring up reagan.

It came across as you saying that reagan favored war and it turned out good so trump being in favor of going to war with countries that disagree with him would turn out good too. If that isn't why you brought up reagan then feel free to explain why bringing reagan up was relevant.

If you just wanted to talk reagan then there was no need to quote me. You could even start a new thread about him.

I not mad at you for posting that and it didn't cause me pain. Just thought it was weird is all. I want you to have a good day too.

What do you think about the quoted part of the above post? You have always seemed to think the usa should stay out of other countries business (me too).

I'm glad that you asked fishonjazz. Yep as you said I think the USA should stay out of other countries business. I watched last night's speech in it's entirety and the only reference I heard from him about attacking other countries was when he spoke about joining forces with those who want to combat ISIS. He also said that there will be no more nation building and no more regime changes, precisely what Hillary pushed for in Egypt and Libya for instance. So I'm not sure where Broncster is getting that statement about Trump wanting to bully other countries from.

Trump pointed out that he's calling for Americanism instead of globalism, and redefining the role the US should have in the UN. If true (and I repeat, if TRUE, he's now a politician after all), this doesn't sound to me like wanting to bully other countries. Quite the contrary. While being far from perfect I have to say I like his stand on foreign policy much better than what we've been getting for the past decades. And you know how big I am on foreign policy. He might come through as a jerk I give you that, but having "our" jerk, the people's jerk is far off better than having a smooth talking servant to special interests, domestic and foreign, as Trump mentioned in his speech.

More than one way to bully on the international stage. Tariffs, sanctions, propping up regional rivals...

I agree. Any specific references to Trump talking about bullying other countries with these methods? Maybe I missed it...

What I did hear is that he wants to renegotiate the NAFTA trade deal more in our favor, if not straight up abandon such deal, and focus on individual relationships between the US and other countries.

Very very good answer!

That's one of the problems with him. There are no specifics on anything.

I'd point to his comments on the border wall and Mexico, comments about NATO and spending, trade deals and how he deals with reporters as signs of his bullying nature. Sometimes being a jerk and standing your ground can be the right answer even. I just don't trust him.

He promised a 45% tariff on all Chinese goods.

I have that part in me that keeps me from trusting him all the way as well, as the politician that he now is. Just pointing out some comments of his that I did like to hear.

Plus clinton is the other option......
Sigh

Trump is an isolationist. I'm sure nobody wants to see Trump win more then Putin. Trump is so reckless with words, as the firestorm that erupted over his comments this week concerning NATO demonstrates. He clearly wants to undermine the NATO Alliance. During a Trump presidency, we should fully expect Putin to re conquer Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. At the least.

What's wrong with trying to be friends with one of the countries who IS fighting back against ISIS. As opposed to antagonizing one of the most powerful military forces in the world. And no reconquering has happened yet, let's not fearmonger in advance shall we.

Americans are so sensitive. When I painted you isolationists in the right light you pout troll troll troll. Admit it you had no response to defend your asinine isolationist stance. You are the troll.
You are correct @dutchjazz I had no response to the made up stance/position that you claimed I was, that had nothing to do with what I wrote.

Okay, I ask you again, who?

I think you going out of you all-white tunnel of Fox News & Hillary LIED might be more beneficial that pointing out KKK leaders running for senate in Louisiana & their followers murdering black people thanks to the legitimizing brought forth by DJT.

Democrats** think their own smug-liberal outrage and sneering jokes in Twitter echo chamber are enough to defeat Trump. I think Trump has good chance of winning because, false or not, he provides a coherent narrative that speaks to pervasive economic malaise.

That's my last take on the issue
