Stranger Things

The one thing I hate about these Netflix series is that everyone is on a completely different episode. You cant really discuss theories you have on the show.

You guys need to go watch Escape from New York and then watch this and tell me that music isn't the same.

Finally finished. Overall was a great series, very entertaining and some great characters. Looking forward to Season 2.

It was great. I thought it was very early Stephen King-ish. Insane. When can we talk spoilers?

Best show I've seen on Netflix. I am disappointed that they're doing a traditional second season (that's what I heard), as this story was satisfyingly over. I was hoping for an anthology, where each season tells a different story.

Just watched the 1st episode... tried it due to the hype...

Nothing special so far. Sorta reminded me of the first hour of the film 'Super 8' (by JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg)... so similar in so many ways..

- the plot (so far)

- the setting, small town, ('79 vs '83),

- the mystery, of that 'mysterious monster'

- 4 nerdy kids and the beautiful older girl,

- the government secret facility

- the disaster (i.e., the escape) & the cover-up...

I mean, have you guys seen the film? I can't help but think "This isn't very original... "

Yep. Very good call.

It isn't. That's the point. It's a genre show. A tribute to the 80s themes of friendship, government conspiracies, children with superpowers, etc. It's a cliche on purpose.

And it does it better than any of em, IMO.

Can we point out how creepy it is that he considers the girl a "beautiful older girl" when she is the same age as the boys who are probably like 12.

None of the boys is 9/10. Have you ever even seen children? They're about 12.

I edited before this and changed it to 12 after I googled them, but no, I dont know the exact age of kids by looking at them. Not something I'm really embarrassed to admit.

According to IMDB, the only boy with age listed is 14 (right now, so 12-13 at time of filming), and the girl is 12.

So your comment was stupid.

Sure, I dont know the difference between 10 year olds and 12 year olds. Are you that desperate to prove me wrong on something after you got your *** handed to you on the Westbrook thing?

Uh, clearly not talking about the same girl.
