Trump/Hillary Debate

Reading through these comments makes me feel like you guys are talking about Surivior or The Bachelor or smth. OMG This whole ish is soooo stupid and irrational¡!¡!¡!¡!¡!

You've hit the nail on the head. Survivor and The Bachelor best shows ever IMO.

Also Snapped and Judge Judy.

Also Hot Bench.

I agree with much of what you're saying, especially the part about bankruptcy. Yeah, it's legal to do, but it's rarely moral. The only exception would be where someone literally has no other choice (like in some medical bankruptcies). In my opinion he blatantly stole from those he used his bankruptcies to avoid paying.

Totally moral when Dr. Jones does it.

Did Clinton win the debate but lose the election?

We should know as soon as this weekend. Clinton trounced Trump in last night’s debate. Trump looked much worse than I expected. Really a uniquely bad performance in a presidential debate. All Trump’s noxious personality traits were showcased for voters to see. The question is, will enough of them care?

My prediction is that if Clinton doesn’t get a bump in the polls of at least two to four points she will lose the election. In a normal election, a clear and decisive winner of a debate gets a bump from the polls. If Clinton doesn’t move ahead of Trump in the post-debate polls, if the election is still a toss up early next week, it means enough voters don’t care how unpresidential Trump may seem, they’re willing to vote for change, even if the change agent is a scary pumpkinhead.

The thing about the first debate is it becomes completely forgotten the moment the second debate begins. Kerry trounced Bush in their first debate in 2004 and Romney clearly out-matched Obama in their first debate in 2012. Neither one mattered in the end because in both cases the loser of the first debate improved in the second debate and all the stories in the media were about how much "better" they did. There's a cynical part of me that thinks Bush and Obama both purposely lost their first debate so they can level-set expectations for their second debate.

The point is nobody rides the momentum from the first debate into The White House so whatever bounce Clinton gets will ultimately be meaningless.

Of course there could be a more systemic problem on the Trump side - that being he's totally out of his league in these formats. Yes, they're both ******** artists; but the one thing I think we can all agree on is Hillary's ******** is WAY more polished than Donald's. This isn't like the republican debate where whoever throws out the tastiest red meat to the base wins - you actually have to make it appear like you know what you're talking about.

One thing that I don't think gets enough attention is that Hillary's indiscretions have all taken place while she has been in public office, and Trumps have taken place as he was a private citizen. The difference being, Trump may have been a sleaze bag, but he wasn't committed to serving anyone but himself.

The only one that has truly "disqualified" themselves from being President is Hillary Clinton.

Trump's stance on stop-and-frisk last night was damn-near disqualifying, as was Hillary's ******** "Iran was WEEKS AWAY from a bomb1!1!!!1" statement.

What a talent pool

Dr. Jones bragged about his use of bankruptcies. Although I understand that as a Trump supporter facts may not matter to you.

The fact you used "bragged" is simply evidence of your having a teeny weeny weenie.

I do use bankruptcy. But it's a tool to be used under certain circumstances to better allow creditors to be paid... not, NOT get paid. Don't be a dunce.
I don't use BK like Trump does (personal or corporate BK on MY own stuff), but rather use it to help others survive tough times and advance. But to some, any time someone makes money in a way or ways they don't understand, it surely must be immoral.

Good point. I think Hillary just needs to keep her cool as she pretty much did during this debate. She could probably smile a little less too... no need to act incredulous at Trumps B.S.

I agree if Clinton gets a bump in the polls her lead could dissipate before November and that future debates will play a factor. I’m not saying Clinton will win if she moves ahead of Trump in the next week or two, just that she will likely lose if she can’t show some positive movement from Trump’s disastrous performance last night.

The one thing that I totally agree on with Trump is how the Fed has artificially propped up the economy. There's very little real investment going on on Wall Street. I was around for the boom in the 90's and today it's a completely different animal - it's all about accumulating stock and making acquisitions. If we raised interest rates I think this could all fall like a house of cards - literally in weeks.

It's damn refreshing to hear that from someone running for President - I just wish it wasn't coming from a narcissistic lunatic.
