Hayward finger injury

He put so much work in this offseason, now he'll have to sit. ****.

Last case of dislocated finger I remember in the NBA was Aldridge right before the playoffs. He played through it and played well, but he said he sat out of Rio because his finger was still injured. https://news4sanantonio.com/sports/spurs-zone/lamarcus-aldridge-says-finger-injury-still-not-healed

I think Hayward could play through it, but that would be a tough thing to play with a dislocated finger all season, because if he plays before it heals it will always bother him.

He better lay off the video games :)

That term was not in the lexicon of Stockton and Malone.

Neither were $150 million contracts.

Give him a break. Doctors and coaches won't let players play anymore. Organizations are investing so much money in their players that they won't let them be tough guys.

Kobe played most of a season with a finger that needed to have surgery. It might be that if Hayward doesn't let it heal, it will nag him for the rest of his year (or career!)

This goes back to the Boozer vs Okur debate.

Boozer sat out when the team needed him and ended up making $60 million over the next 5 years. Okur played on a bad wheel in a playoff game and ended up tearing his achilles and being out of the league 2 years later.

And Aldridge doesn't have to handle like a wing/guard.

Fractured part matters wayy more than it being dislocated.

Here's some recent players who dealt with a fractured finger:

Also get ready to be sh*t on mid-November when we are struggling. Hard schedule and missing your best player? Not good. They'll catch up by the end of November though, and I still think we'll be at 20 wins by January, which will put us around 4th or 5th in the West at the time. I'm still predicting 47 games.

The main thing to take away from this is that G-Time is going to be one finger down in his LoL sessions.

Maybe his daughter is developing much, much faster than we thought, and is truly fulfilling the prophecy of Wonder Woman. She will be 6'6" and have super human strength, breaking Hayward's finger at an early age.

The good old duffel bag on the floor trick. Gets a Jazz player every time.

I would absolutely love seeing Exum in the starting lineup at the two. His chemistry with Gobert is huge.

You don't let fingers heal fully you will just dislocate or break them again very easily.

And you'all be playing in some discomfort and maybe even pain all year that affects your stroke and therefore percentages and efficiency.

Personally, I'd rather he be out 5-7 weeks and heal right and come back at 100% rather than play in discomfort all year and shoot at a 42/33/76 clip or something.

This is why we got depth. For such circumstances. I'm not too worried about it.
