I'm not overly worried about Colorado this year. They are the same team they were last year. They were 4-9 last year. Last year, they were 2-7 in games decided by a TD and 2 pt conversion or less.
They were "young" last year.
This year, they lucked out that Oregon and Stanford suck, and miss Washington and Cal from the North. They aren't much better than they were last year. They are a little more experienced, and had some balls bounce their way, didn't have to face Rosen, Oregon sucked, Stanford is a shell of their former selves, and have stayed extremely healthy overall. They should have been 6-6 last year, and they should end up this year 7-5. They were unlucky last year and a little luckier this year. They could easily be 4-5 right now.
They could beat us in November. They always almost beat us. But, they won't. This is the same Colorado team we've seen all along. Just a little more experienced.
Also, remember how injured we've been. Next week, we will have Marcus Williams, Handley, Buter-Byrd back. They did not play vs Washington. If Moss is anywhere near healthy and can get 10 carries, Patrick and Butler-Byrd are healthy and Marcus Williams plays, we will win out. We are just too good. If we had been as healthy as Washington or Colorado, we'd be undefeated right now.
We are a damn good team. Every year there are 15-20 amazingly good teams that can beat anyone at anytime. We are one of those teams this year. What is the difference between being a top 5 team and a top 15 team? Luck. Being healthy, having a team down when you play them, having your OOC be a little weaker.
We haven't been lucky this year, which is too bad. The good news is, we return a ton of starters, and a lot of next year's starters have played a ton due to injuries this year.
What Whitt has built here is extraordinary.
