What's new

Clinton will win easily

Am I totally weird for thinking their might be unrest in a city like SF tomorrow? Was gonna head there for a day trip for my birthday, but now might just go to the mountains or something.

I work at a Unitarian church in downtown Oakland. It will be pretty interesting going there this weekend.

I really think people will look back on all the doom and gloom posts and realise they were seriously overreacting (not saying any of you in particular, but holy **** have you been on twitter recently?). At least give trump a month or so when he's not making a deliberate attempt to pander solely to the typical republican and we'll see what sort of legacy he wants to leave.

There will certainly be things he does that are good and things he does that are bad. Hopefully, he will bring some positive change to your political system, if nothing else. And I hope the media can recover some semblance of integrity.

I sincerely hope you're right but there is nothing in Trump's history that makes me think that there is even a remote chance of this happening.

My uncle briefly worked for him in the mid-80's during the real estate boom when Trump was on the top of the world - even back then he was insulated by a thick bubble of *** kissers and yes men.

I don't think this guy has had to deal with anyone with a opinion different that his in at least 40 years.

I have many people saying they no longer feel safe to live in the country, and one person posted they had never felt so betrayed, alone, and confused in their life. Must not have had a lot go on in your life if a presidential election is one of the most impactful moments of your existence.

I have a huge amount of international friends and it's annoying to see how "ashamed of America" they are. Like, ok? My in-laws to be are Swiss and I've been staying out of all the group texts about how terrible this is for America.

I can totally see why people wouldn't want Trump, but everyone needs to take a nap/go for a walk/not get on the Internet for a few days til they can learn to chill.

The whitest post ever seen on this forum

This is why the trump haters who voted for stein/mcmullin/johnson/etc were stupid. There were plenty of die hard trump supporters out there. The way to beat him was for all the trump haters (neverturnips) to unite and vote for hillary (even if you didn't like her). If trump winning was your worst case scenario and you voted for stein/mcmullin/johnson then you helped your worst case scenario come true.

Damn, i wish i could remove all my money from my 401k. (i have to pay back a loan i took out to re-finance my home so i cant really get my money out... plus the taxes i would have to pay on it.)

And lol at the people who think trump winning is a blow the establishment. The happiest people this morning are rich white people (kinda the definition of the establishment).

It's sad that Trump is going to get elected. It's sad that the Dems didnt put up the GOAT candiate Bernie Sanders.

It's like the Dems had Lebron James on their bench and they where like "Nah, Carmello get up here, it's your time to shine".

Great post.

As a non-citizen and non-resident this wouldn't concern me much if it wasn't actually the ****ing US of A. This has the potential to be a destabilizing event throughout the world, not just in the US. You got a narcissistic megalomaniac with short fuse as a leader of the free world. A person who while running for president spends his nights settling twitter feuds with pageant contestants. A person who sues comedians for jokes and has threatened to jail journalists for negative press. I can see how someone this petty and this vindictive, yet so unqualified and impulsive, would scare the bejesus out of people everywhere, not just the US.

With all that said - wow! What a horribly, horribly run campaign by democrats and just how flawed of a candidate was Hillary for her to lose this decisively to Trump?

According to the polls McMullin had a better chance at defeating Trump in Utah than Hillary. That is why I voted for McMillan. Obviously Mormons didn't hold up their end of the bargain. Just goes to show that Mormons are less virtuous than my atheist ***.

Is it possible that some of those feelings are justified though? Especially the international communities feelings. I mean if you are from a different country it would appear (right or wrong) that america chose a racist, sexist, egotistical, unqualified, narcissistic bully as their leader.

Our american sales guy told me today that he is "scared as hell that his country feels the way that they do". I responded that nobody suddenly woke up this morning feeling a new type of way, nor did they last week or last month. The people around you have not changed, your community is still going to be just as loving and supportive as it has always been. I understand people worrying about some of Trump's stances, but don't act like people are suddenly going to start raping and lynching down main street.

There have already been riots and violent protests......... not to mention my 401k account shrinking. Like it or not, things are different today than they were yesterday.
Even ugly is afraid to go to san francisco for some reason. If you think nothing has changed then you are fooling yourself.

Huh, I saw hillary got 28% of the vote and mcmullin got 20%. regardless, i was talking about the country, not the state of utah.

Regardless, this was not the time to vote your conscience. The stakes were too high. Trump supporters were playing to win. Trump haters were going with their conscience. We all lost in the end.

Vote 3rd party and try to shake things up and get change happening during a different election. Stakes were too high in this one.

Had zero effect on the outcome.
