Danny Ainge reportedly wants to reunite Gordon Hayward, Brad Stevens in Boston

I thought I read somewhere this week and I am paraphrasing that Hayward said "I want to win, where I live is not an issue"

He is gone.

Only way he stays is if 3 things happen

1. We get a true point guard (Hill would be fine if he can regularly play...as such he needs to be replaced)
2. Trade Burks - I do not think Burks/Hayward are buds....plus Burks does not fit any more.
3. We are at least a 4 seed this year and win at least the 1st round....

Anything else I think he is gone.....

Make no mistake Boston can offer a lot. Including the Brooklyn pick (currently #3 Lonzo Ball/Josh Jackson), Jae Crowder (very good SF), and a future pick.

I dont see how it's misleading.

The Celtics have a ton of assets and want a star.
The Celtics obviously have an interest in Hayward. This is a "rumor" but we can all agree, especially with the Stevens connection, it's probably true.
Celtics are reported to overvalue assets, so they are probably offering laughable offers like deals centered around Marcus Smart.
Hayward is a free agent and *could walk*. They even offer a Woj bit saying Utah is confident they can keep him, to avoid misleading the reader.
Deals could ramp up since there is internal pressure on the Celtics.
Since there is some fear over Hayward leaving, means door is open for possible deal.

None of those things are wrong. You dont think if the Celtics came out and offered both Brooklyn picks, Jae Crowder, and Avery Bradley it wouldnt make Dennis Lindsey pause? I highly doubt that happens, but the timing of the article makes sense given the recent media attention on Jazz. It's inevitable and to get overly emotional about someone suggesting we might trade Hayward seems silly to me.

Ive seen much worse articles where people completely make up rumors, this one is based in some sort of substance that has been floating around for sometime.

As Jazz fans we are going to find pretty much every article written on the Jazz to be unnecessary because we know everything about the Jazz. The only articles we like are the ones that fluff us up or reveal insider information that only top level guys like Lowe have access to.

It is worse than making it up. He took an idea that has been around since Hayward was drafted by the Jazz and wrote an article like no one had ever brought this idea up before. I guess we also should just ignore the fact that GMs can't talk about signing any player under contract.

How many years did Hayward play for Stevens? How many years has he played for Snyder? And how many years has he played with teammates he now calls friends? The whole Boston "rumor" centers on him wanting to reunite with his college coach. But why should he like Stevens more than Snyder? Why wouldn't he also value the camaraderie he's developed with his current teammates?
What really irks me are these writers who believe Utah would make a deal because Boston insists. Celtics have NOTHING that would be as valuable as Hayward. Jazz don't need two inferior players in exchange. Utah already has starters at every position. We have depth. Utah is looking to augment and upgrade if/where possible, not downgrade.
I'm really not worried about Hayward leaving.

Hill and his agent have made it pretty clear that Hill would prefer to stay in Utah. I'd give Hill the max if the alternative meant we lose both him and Hayward.
Max hood and favors while we are at it

Hood WILL get a max offer from someone that we'll need to match. We can't keep everyone. I think Utah will hold off on a Favors extension...unless he gives the team a significant discount. And they'll want to see if Lyles can be a reliable stretch-4.

It sounds like you read the article while being way too emotional. It simply stated that Boston wants Hayward and there is a push within the orginization to get deals done and Hayward is a target. The writer even included a Woj bit that said the Jazz feel strongly they can keep him.

Yes it's old news, but it goes hand and hand with the Zach Lowe piece. The Jazz are getting more attention so Hayward is getting more attention so this story gains relevance.

Hand in hand. Moran.

I would not give Hill the max. Would he take five years, 100M?

Dude, no writer is saying Hayward to Boston is a sure thing at all. You are way too emotional on this. They just say Boston wants Hayward and Hayward has ties to Boston. Boston is a good team and has a good history, they will be on his FA radar. To say they wont is to fool yourself. Boston has two super valuable Brooklyn picks. If they really wanted too, they could make a very interesing package to Utah that would probably make them think about it.

Boston sucks. Danny Ainge is overrated.

We will back up the brinks truck for Hayward this offseason and our brinks truck is bigger than theirs (because of the salary cap). Hayward will stay and many on Jazzfanz will freak out and declare Hayward not a max player.

So if Ainge wants Hayward he needs to scratch up all his BKN picks and other assets and pay us a king's ransom. I'm talking like an embarrassing overpay.

Being 30 years old I would think a 5 year deal like that would be appealing to him. The last two years would be a little painful for us if he follows most aging/performance curves.

I love Hill 5 years... 100M is way too much. I know he has value but he's missed most of the games this year and not every team will have ample space. SA is the threat and they won't touch that number.

Where will he go that offers a better winning situation and a four year max? He's losing a **** ton of money if he leaves. May make up a smidge of that in marketing.

If injuries continue before all star break and we're unable to show Hayward this team is worth a damn, then trading him at the deadline is entirely possible IMO.

Y'all read this trash tho? Please. I ain't clicking.

Look, Utah is considered top 4 team when healthy by pretty much ever one. They just took a giant dump on two of the biggest MVP candidates that do not reside in San Francisco. Harden an Westbrook were made Jazzez bitches. Seriously where is Hayward gonna go to get a better situation then Utah.

Money wize, Utah is #1 option.
