What's new

Hayward is gone

The team is one of the best when healthy? Is that strictly in reference to this season's team or does it also apply to any recent of the Jazz? Cuz it's either untrue because it is impossible to determine how good this season's team is when healthy cuz it hasn't been and so you are just making an assumption, or, you are either dumbfounded at the end of every regular season since 2012 when one of the nbas best teams doesn't make the playoffs.

Haywards gonna go somewhere with a very legitimate chance at winning a title. Not somewhere where the entire organization can delude their fans into thinking they've got a championship contender with an average team

We got a good look at the team with George Hill running things, and we also got a taste of how good a healthy Jazz team was after the Kanter trade, and this team is much better than that. Whatever though, the chicken littles of this board are going to run around in a panic until we win 98% of our games, and even then, as soon as we lose one game, they'll be back bitching and moaning about what a failure this team is.

Also, for you Einstein's who think Hayward is going to leave for a better chance to win, please enlighten us which team/s you think he is going to sign with. Thanks.

Hayward already has enough money for a lifetime and generations of his family. Money will not be his driver.

He wants to have deep runs in the playoffs with a chance to win it all

He will go to th East.

Deal with it

Do tell. Which team or teams give him a better shot at going deep in the playoffs?

I'll go with the obvious Celtics. They will get far because East is much weaker.

Cleveland as well.

East is a lot easier than the west and he will make all star team as well.

These forums are hilarious.

1 week ago: Will be win a championship this year??

Today: Is it time to rebuild??

Probabaly quite a few teams when looking objectively. Haywards been playing for Utah for what, like, seven years now and he's played in four postseason games

name them Be specific. Where will he go that when he's added to them they're easily better than the team we're developing into ? And that can afford him ... go ....

I hope you're right, but with recent history of injuries odds are stacked against them.
Exactly. Over and over and over again, I see "when we're healthy" or "when we gel" or "when we learn to do..." We are a basketball team and these things happen. We can't be the Greg Oden of teams. "When healthy, he's incredible." Well, we haven't been healthy. I see zero signs we will stay healthy throughout this season.

I'm a man of faith who sees the signs. Melo won't start playing d, the Warriors aren't gonna slow it down and we will always have injuries with this current roster.

Looking objectively, a quarter of the way through the season, Utah was one of only 3 teams in the league in the top 10 efficiency both offensively and defensively. I think a week later there was 4 teams. Utah did that while missing at least one starter and their 6th man for the entire stretch, and missing 2 starters for a big part as well.

But sure, I guess if you don't pay much attention to things like which teams actually have cap space to sign Hayward, and which of those teams give him a better shot at going deep in the playoffs, I could see why you'd assume there must be a bunch of teams he would sign with over Utah.

This team is far better than average when healthy. Hill was playing at an all-star level before his 2 injuries. The difference between Mack running things and Hill is night and day. By the end of the season, it's quite possible Utah could finish with the #1 defense and a top 5 offense with Hill running the show. Even If we're only a top 10 offense with a top 3 defense, that's much better than just being an average team.

You're selling the Jazz short, plain and simple.

This is about 3 weeks old, but I'm going to post it again for those who may have missed it and seem to be throwing in the towel after a few tough losses.

With nearly all 30 teams having played at least 20 games to start the 16-17 NBA regular season, we're roughly at the quarter mark.
The Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz are the only three teams in the NBA to rank in the top-10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency.

-Right now it looks like Utah is ranked 8th offensively and 4th defensively.

He's not going to leave 100% to chase a championship or 100% for the money. I don't see that necessarily. I think if he leaves it will simply be for a change of scenery and he would go to a playoff team with a chance of being great like the Jazz.

And I think there are only a few people on here that doubt the Jazz. I sure don't.

My gut feeling's that if Hayward's old man likes the idea of going elsewhere he wouldn't second guess it. I kinda think they'll decide Utah's the best spot for him tho if they win 50 and play a competitive series in the 2nd rd of the playoffs.

If you think about it just about no one, other than Jazz fanz, would bat an eye if he leaves after Durant, the Celtics big 3 and 2 LeBron decisions.

I've stated before he'd be crazy to leave. This roster is loaded on paper..

Craziest spot for him to land would no doubt be the 76ers, if they get the #1 pick and another really good pick from the Lakers plus another good signing.. That team could stage an unreal 1 season w/l turnaround.

Dude, I don't know you, kinda new around here but are you drunk or something. Now it's if he leaves whereas before you made it sound like a slam dunk. Sorry but this is starting to sound like a troll thread.

Well ****, this isn't a news thread. It's not like I heard it straight from Gordon. And I'm not gonna bet my house on it. I made a thread just like anyone can make a thread and I just think he's gonna move on. I put it out there and everyone can discuss it. It's a forum, it's what people do. And I don't drink. Not when I'm posting. Or when I'm sleeping.

I try never to get drunk while I'm sleeping as well. Sounds a little dangerous actually.

Dude could get one of the biggest contracts in history being the alpha dog for a top 5-8 team in the league. Without uprooting his family from the quiet life he enjoys.

I don't see it bro. Unless the Jazz don't want to flash the cash.

I literally just opened up a Hayward jersey for xmas that my wife got me... He better resign... I got a Boston Rondo jersey and he was traded 3 days later. Not again lol[/URL]
Holy ****, I've got an almost identical story to share...a relative got me a signed Deron Williams Jazz jersey for Christmas in 2010, two months later he got traded.

Can you politely tell your wife to take it back for a refund or exchange it for a Karl Malone or Stockton jersey instead? (the curse doesn't work on retired player jerseys)
