I Booed the Hayward Pick and Now I am so Ashamed

I didn't boo but I was somewhat skeptical about the kid's shooting skills. What I liked was his mental toughness and how he seemed to like taking the big shot. I thought he was a very good defender in college but I wasn't 100 percent sure it would translate to the NBA. The only guy I really would have considered over him was E. Davis because the Jazz needed size. I would have been ok with George but I thought Hayward fit the Jazz system better.

Nevertheless, I am happy he is a Jazz fan and hope people go out of their way to make Hayward feel welcome. The kid can be very good and has the "it" factor you want on the team.

Thankfully the shooting from his freshman year is winning out now. Wonder why he is missing so many FTs though?

I was mad at the time because I thought they needed a big man and there were good ones left on the board. I also thought they probably could have traded down to get Hayward if they really wanted him that bad.

Regardless, I'm happy to be wrong.

i think he is the best player in his position as a rookie. wesley johnson , evan turner may be more talented, but hayward is too complete. He doesnt have a weakness in his game, and if he improve his shooting and do all those stuff with consistency, he can really be an important guy in nba. Just he needs to work and work

I think the bad FT shooting comes from being nervous and not really getting as many trips to the line as he was use to in college?

I gotta admit...it feels good to watch all you buffoons eat crow.
During your month long hayward love fest leading up to the darft I honestly thought you were joking.

Couple days before the darft I realized you were serious and just thought you had gone full retard.

When stern read Hayward's name on draft night one of my first thoughts was "**** you honz!"

Now Hayward is beasting and I have a serious man crush on him.

I hereby nominate honz as the official 2011 jazzfanz draft analyst guy. He is the bizzaro ogatinho and he will not lead us astray.

Indiana was very high on him. They may have still liked George better but it would be a huge risk.

Yes, great pick. But bad coaching for not playing him. A younger sloan would have played him in spite of the williams/miles friendship. But the prior seven games sho the jazz are still in need of a good coach.

They are in need of better, healthier players.

Congradulations Honz on being onboard with Hayward from the git go, but don't go over-board patting Honz on the back. He still is the same guy that was going to give us game by game analysis to show us Boozer was an above average defender. Just saying.........

I think you are thinking of Lunatic Wolf, my friend.

I remember just shaking my head and saying something about it being a total KOC pick.

So, who ya got this year Honz?
