March Madness Thread

My championship game teams are both in the Sweet 16. Can't ask for more than that at this point.

Uhh, yeah then leave someone else, not Willis.

Check Willis's game logs. He's really streaky. If you lose, you want to lose because a role player was hitting semi contested shots. If you leave Fox too open, he can just accelerate freely and fly to the basket with momentum. Briscoe would be the choice to leave open. I think it's more of a scheme thing though, where you want to help from certain directions/angles. And if Kentucky manipulates the defense into helping off one of their 3 decent shooters, it's good offense as well.
You saw the Westbrook action from Fox the one time, help wasn't there.

You dont leave Willis open for 3. I really have no idea why you are arguing about this. They didnt scheme it, it was just bad defense when he got open.

There was no scheme that was designed to leave Willis open or sag off him. They were clear mental errors by the defenders.

Should I count in the next Jazz game, how many moments of confusions happen on both sides that could be argued to be mental errors leading to jeopardizing the defensive scheme?
I sometimes wonder if ppl actually play basketball.

The scheme wasnt leaving Willis....

But Im sure Willis throwing a post entry pass to Bam then immediately relocating and his defender falls asleep, resulting in a wide open 3 is part of the scheme.

Cy has never played any meaningful minutes of any level of basketball. Please forgive him for his lack of understanding the game.

Michigan State did a great job weathering that 13-2 run being down by 11 and ending the half only down 5.

Yes everyone listen to WC, the expert scout who judges players off one game and thinks everyone drafted in the first round should be a future all-star.

Nobody left him. He made a lightning fast move to pass and relocate to the corner. You'd have to been an incredible defender at that position to react that fast.

Derek Willis has never made a lightning fast move in his life.

And yes, defenders naturally relax when their players pass the ball off, that doesnt make it good defense and it means they fell asleep. It's not hard to stay with someone off a pass if you are engaged properly. Dont come at me like it's trying to defend JJ Redick off the ball, it's Derek Willis.

Arkansas getting boned right now. No call foul on three attempt, no call charge on the other end. Guess that's what happens when you play a 1 seed.

Yeah, selfishly Im happy because I picked NC to win it all, but damn, SEC getting boned.

Screwed. They earned the win.

That would have left the "mighty" ACC with only Duke as a potential sweet 16 team.
Amazing how much sway media bias has throughout the year on ultimate seeding.

Not saying the ACC isn't the best conference this year, but this whole clearly best by a mile thing is.... media bias.
