2016-17 Hype Train Playoff Chase!!!

Can't the Pelicans pay him more than anybody? Aren't they desperate to win now, and in a cash-strapped position which will probably cause them to overpay to keep their own rather than take a step back and pay much less for a replacement who isn't as good as Jrue?
No idea. I doubt their owner wants to pay LT though. Same dude who owns the Saints.

Also can see the GM thinking that they're better off packing the team with shooters and letting Tim continue to start at the 1, than continuing to play Frazier at the 1 and Jrue at the 2 into next season-- because best believe they will have little room to shore up depth past Jrue if they end up maxing him.

Pretty sure Hill is going to be disappointed by his value on the open market after a strong class of 2017 point guards gets drafted. Hoping the number stays close to where the Jazz peg his value and he comes back - in spite of the injuries. I love Dante Exum, and he's clearly the future. . . but Hill helps them win now. I guess we'll see in a couple of months.

even if we overpaid for 2-3 years would be ok but can't see that happening. Hill might regret not taking the extension.

Tough game for Portland tonight so that's probably good going into tomorrow. Them losing the game though still makes the race for that 8th seed more contested now. We'll probably still get a helluva battle out of them for both games.

I hadn't thought of the impact the draft might have on Hill's stock... I think there is a possibility a deal can be found for his contract thanks in part to his injuries this season that will have lowered his value. 4 season at 20ish per with the 4th being a player option would be a solid deal for him. I would think. let's see.

Not sure why people are talking about Jrue Holiday. Utah would need cap space to sign Holiday, while they can use bird rights on Hill to go over the cap. I don't believe we'll have sufficient cap room to go after anyone like Jrue.

All you Hill hating mother effers better get on board. Dude is gonna be a Jazz man.

Cause hill might leave which would mean we might want a point guard in free agency and holiday is a free agent point guard next year.

As for being able to pay him. A. We don't know what he will cost yet.
B. I think we have options to create salary space (I might be wrong) like dumping boris, burks, favors, withey, etc etc.

Did you see the offer we gave Hill, and what his agent demanded?

The Nets don't have a pick this year, and a massive hole at PG. Knicks need a PG, Pels might actually find George Hill to be the better complement for Boogie and Davis.

If Hill goes for way less dollars then obviously you go for him-- I'm just saying that there's decent odds that this wont be the case, and if it isn't then Jrue is the obvious choice for the future given his two-way play, his ability to guard multiple positions, and his youth.

Jazz going after full health over HCA in the 1st.

Sitting 4 players tonight, including 3 starters. 5th seed is looking more likely. But if the Jazz are actually healthy come playoffs is it worth it?

That's a good question.
There is a chance that they could play some of those guys tonight, get the 4th seed, and also be healthy for the playoffs.

There is also a chance that they could hold guys out and we still win and keep the 4th seed and be healthy for the playoffs.

And then there is the chance that we hold guys out, lose the 4th seed and we are unhealthy for the playoffs anyway (with this team I wouldn't be surprised by this outcome)

It'll be a fight the rest of the way.
