Favor's Knee

I thought the corpse of Derrick Favors did really well.

There have been no indications I've seen that he is anything other than fine.

So excited we have two days in between games 1 and 2 AND 2 and 3. Can only help Favors, Joe Jesus, Hill and Co.

His knee is fine. "That was the most nervous that I've been for any game in my basketball career," Favors said. "I felt good. It was my first time playing 30 minutes in a long time. I didn't have any pain in my knee, no discomfort. I was just a little fatigued."

This is great to hear. We're lucky there's so much time between games for him to rest.

It was a gutsy performance.

He looked like me out there when I run full court, but he pushed through and helped us.

All the attention right now is on #1.) Rudy's injury, #2.) Joe Johnson's game winner, #3.) Gordon Hayward's quietly solid, team-oriented, crash-the-boards game and #4.) Jingle's defensive effort and high basketball IQ.

But even with all those things combined. . . this game is a blowout loss without Derek Favors putting in the game that he did. He hasn't been healthy all year and has missed a number of games recently. He's not nearly in the right kind of shape to be playing over 30 minutes in a playoff game. And yet, he did. And he contributed key points, rebounds and defensive stops.

TBH, I think a lot of fans had written him off after all the injuries this year. Many think the team is better off trading him this offseason. I hope that his efforts in the playoffs will end that chatter. Considering all he's gone through this season to get back onto the court. . . Derek Favors had a phenomenal game.
