What's new

which players do you want jazz to get? keep it realistic

see subject, it should be realistic. don't be saying stuff like jazz should get lebron, harden, Anthony davis and curry!

just keep it realistic.

i would love to have porzingis alongside gobert!

why i think it is realistic, well he is disgruntled in new york hell. so jazz could swing it for a few young players and a ****load of first round picks

we got a bucnh this years. porzinigs next to rudy on offense is a match made in heaven!
always having rudy or porzingis on the court!

You said keep it realistic and right off the bat you suggest someone that is not realistic, hahahaha...good one!

i explained why it is realistic!
the relationship between new york and porzingis is strained. new york might try and repair it. or cut their losses and start over with young players and some pics!

jazz could basically offer them a ****load of picks, and players. neto, burks, exum, hood and cash(like they need cash)
that's why i think it is realistic!

LOL.

Thanks for the OP. Good suspense leading up to punchline. Good for a laugh.

Bogut and Bosh.

"realistic" can go kick rocks.

Jazz FO loaded the deck and now it is time to swing for the damn fences. Jazz have made themselves into a contender. No more settling and no more games.

The stigma of the old Jazz is gone.

Uhhh, it's more about cap issues than people not wanting to come here. We just cant pay the upper tier guys rn. No one coming to Utah on a pay-cut (besides maybe D-Will).

Not a chance. This would be like us trading Gobert. Not going to happen.

I would like to see us go all in on a proven talent and all-star. CP3, Butler, even Westbrook could all fill the bill. If they could hold onto Rudy and Hayward and literally clean house to get a third star this off-season we could then build around that and make some serious noise. A CP3 alongside Hayward (who is way better than Griffin IMO) and Gobert (who is still not even in sight of his potential) would be devastating, especially surrounded with specialty guys (3&D wings, rebounders, defensive stallwarts, blue collar guys like Ingles, etc.) A team like that would have taken the Warrios to at least 6 or 7 games with a legit chance at winning it.

So long as we are keeping this realistic...

My pick is Kevin Durant. He is a free agent next year. Then I would do a trade with the Spurs for Kawhi. He injured his ankle a couple of nights ago and we have lots of assets. The Spurs don't want an injury prone player.

Oh I saw your explanation, but if you really think the Knicks are willing to trade Porzingis, then you're living on a different planet then the rest of us, and I would like to come visit! :)

I don't care who it is, I just want a stretch 4 playing next to Rudy.

Coming right up...

Milos Teodosic
Jordan Clarkson via trade - the Lakers might even trade him for Boris Diaw (who they'd waive) just for the cap space
Omri Casspi
Eric Bledsoe & Tyson Chandler - they don't belong on a rebuilding team - a Gobert/Chandler rotation would be discouraging for the rest of the NBA whenever they played us.
Danillo Gallinari - if Hayward signs elsewhere.

The irony of the Kristaps Porzingis thing is - he was almost traded to the Jazz on draft day. If you remember all the way back to the 2015 draft, the Knicks were trying to shop their pick and looking to trade down because they (and pretty much every scout in the league) felt like this draft was 3 players deep. Bill Simmons later confirmed that the Knicks were looking to move back in the draft to go after Frank Kaminsky. Then there were leaks about a four team deal.

Then David Locke several months later mentioned on his podcast that in the 2015 draft, the Jazz had a deal in the works to move up and get a lottery pick from the Knicks, but that they wanted not only to switch picks but Derrick Favors as well - which was ludicrous at the time.

But putting two and two together - and factoring in Dennis Lindsey's penchant for doing extreme scouting on European players one can easily conclude, but not confirm that the Jazz had a draft day offer on the table of Derrick Favors + 12th pick to the Knicks for the 4th pick. And that if we had it, DL would have used it to nab Porzingis. Had that happened, the Jazz would have stolen the draft two years straight - which is almost impossible to do. Though, I wouldn't mind getting Gobert lucky again with this year's draft. :)

Kevin Durant only switches to teams that beat him in the playoffs.

A trade for Paul George or Jimmy Butler. Either is realistic. The Pacers have to trade George before he walks next season. And there are reports out that Butler won't be back in Chicago next year. Time for DL to get aggressive in trade negotiations to try to make a big move.
