which players do you want jazz to get? keep it realistic

I honestly think swinging for Lowry or CP3 is realistic if we keep Hayward. I also think a packaged trade deal for Paul George as a 1 year rental is realistic if Indy feels like he's going to bolt.

My long shot fantasy is to somehow pair Jimmy Butler with Hayward, Hill, and Gobert.

Wait, people complained that we got Hill on possibly a 1 year rental and now want to get George for a DEFINITE 1 year rental?

Yes to pair with George Hill, Hayward, and Gobert. That's the idea. Could push us to elite status if even for a year. One year is all it takes sometimes to get the chip.

I would like the Jazz to re-sign only Hayward and relying on free agency and the draft to replace Diaw, Mack, Withey, Ingles and Hill.

I would take into consideration Patty Mills, James Johnson and Ilyasova.

I want the Jazz to retain the players we have as FAs.

I want the Jazz to trade Hood, Lyles and whoever else is needed to make the salaries match plus whatever first round picks to get Paul George. He is a one year rental and not many teams will offer much for him. Jazz are one of the few teams that might be able to retain him if we make a big run. After that I want us to go after Patrick Patterson if we can get him for cheap. I think he could start if Favors isnt right next year and he could come off the bench. If we can draft a solid big that can play Center great. Otherwise pick up someone slightly better than Withey.

Hill/Exum/Neto
George/Inles/Exum
Hayward/Inlges/JJ
Favors/Patterson/JJ
Gobert/FA or Draft Pick/Favors

That is the roster that gets us past GS next year. Especially since the West will be more open when Durant goes East... I hope.

You guys are a-holes. Phil Jackson told a reporter that he would consider offers for any NY player. I cant find it, but I read the report.

Any player is available especially one with only 1 year and 1 restricted year left. If he demands out, his value would plummet more and more as this year progressed.

NY would not laugh at Favors, Hood, Utah 2017 1st, GS 2017 1st, OKC 2018 1st and a future unprotected 1st for Porzingis and Noah's awful contract.

I think there's a big difference between considering offers for any NY player and considering any offer for NY players. Him being able to be traded from NY shouldn't be conflated with being moved for $0.50 on the dollar. Phil Jackson may make stupid personnel moves but other people could step up and offer real quality. Damian Lillard, Blake Griffin, Paul George, Jimmy Butler, etc. are all players that their teams would offer up for him in addition to picks. Other teams can throw mid-level talent and top draft picks for him. Boston, for instance.

You don't know that. All I said was NY would listen to 4 first rounders, Hood and Favors for a terrible contract and KP. And they would. Could NY get better? Maybe, probably.

I'm sure they'd listen to it and I've always been a big advocate that if you don't ask you don't get and sometimes you may be surprised what you get, it's just that this ain't one of those times. Certainly wouldn't prevent me from asking or having the conversation if I'm DL, but Hayward has a better chance of signing a deal in China than this trade would have of going down.

I think they absolutely would laugh at it. So we can just disagree.

i explained why it is realistic!
the relationship between new york and porzingis is strained. new york might try and repair it. or cut their losses and start over with young players and some pics!

jazz could basically offer them a ****load of picks, and players. neto, burks, exum, hood and cash(like they need cash)
that's why i think it is realistic!

Knicks have like 5 years or something to try to mend the relationship before they even have to consider trading him.

Assuming we still have Hayward, Ingles and Hill. I'd to trade away some of our current role players and fill out our bench. Target the Spurs free agents Manu and Simmons.

call me crazy, but how about Michael Carter Williams ?

Only 26yrs old.

stands 6-6

Could be coached up by Quin and might take to Jazz culture ( defense, teamwork, etc )

He has one guaranteed year left. If he will not re sign then you have to consider trading him. NY would be idiotic to not trade him. He could play two years and bail.

He has 2 left bud. And he will be a RFA. If he really really really hates NYK, he could take the QO and be a UFA after 3 years. That would be losing a ton of money though and highly unlikely.
