Following potential 2017 draftees...

Jonathan Jeanne is my guy right now. Like any prospect, you can poke holes in him, but he has too much going for him at such a young age, that i wouldn't pass on him at 24. Eerily similar to Rudy at the same stage. Active on both ends of the floor, runs the floor exceptionally well, blocks shots, very good rebounder who compensates for the thin frame with toughness and a good motor. He's more skilled with the ball than Rudy, can actually shoot it a bit - though needs to improve there, not as tough or explosive at the rim as Rudy was and is even thinner.

my biggest concern is that i'm convinced he will rise up draft boards as the draft gets closer he won't be available at 24.

He has the same agent as Gobert and they've met multiple times. Pretty neat. I love him as a prospect too. There were some mumblings about him struggling in 5-on-5 at the combine but I watched and was very impressed.

I feel a bit awkward saying it, but Jonathan Jeanne has the potential to be one of the top 5 - 8 players in this draft. Obviously, he needs to get stronger and build his base, but his quickness, instincts and reactions are actually very good. He doesn't move like a 7'2" guy. He's surprisingly mobile and plays with a high energy level.

It also means you could never play him more than 12-15 minutes a game, he is a pure center. It wouldn't be a problem in year 1, but could be after that.
I sorta disagree about Jeanne being a pure center. First, he can shoot it just a little- enough that one could at least have some hope that he could be reliable out to 18 feet or so. Second, he moves really well laterally. In fact watching his pro games, that might be what stood out most to me.

Hard to say and i could be wrong, but i think there's a chance he could play the 4.

DX has a video of him shooting spot-up threes at the combine. He was making quite a few and surprised me. That's at NBA range too. I think he could play at the 4 as well.

Whoever the Jazz draft needs to be able to shoot. The Playoffs show that you can't afford to have someone on the floor who is a non-shooter. Those players will get exposed. John Wall shooting 8/23 and 1/8 on 3s pretty much took the Wizards out in the 4th quarter. It makes me worry about Exum. Hopefully, he can keep developing as a shooter.

If Hood has a bad shooting game it also puts the Jazz behind the 8-ball.

Then Rodions Kurucs would be the pick.

which I wouldn't mind

I'm a big Jeanne fan. I would be totally on board with him at 24. He has a ton of potential. His combination of length and movement/fluidity is rare. He has a smooth looking jumper that shouldn't be hard to develop. He's going to need some development and he needs to get stronger but the upside is undeniable.

If we are in win now mode, we shouldnt try to go up in the draft, it doesnt make sense. We may use 2 of our picks in a trade package.
Of course it all depends on Hayward. If he is gone, we might have to push for a small rebuild again.

The problem is the draft is before free agency... so I guess we'll just have to make the picks and hope for the best.

They should take free agency deadline to an earlier time. This way doesnt make much sense.

It depends from what perspective you're looking at.

Well I guess from the players perspective they get a complete picture of what the team's gonna be like, so they can make an informed decision.

From the team's perspective it kinda suck.
