RealGM Mock Off-Season - Thoughts?

Do you guys like this roster in case I go through with the Beal trade:

Bolomboy, Joel $1,312,611.00
Beal, Bradley $23,700,000.00
Adebayo, Bam $1,579,440.00
Exum, Dante $4,992,385.00
Min contract/wing? $1,394,520.00
Gobert, Rudy $21,224,719.00
Hayward, Gordon $30,000,000.00
Hill, George $18,000,000.00
Nikola Kalinic $2,386,864.00
Ingles, Joe $8,000,000.00
Johnson, Joe $10,505,000.00
Lyles, Trey $2,441,400.00
Kuzma $870,000.00
Neto, Raul $1,471,382.00
Pasecniks, Anzejs $870,000.00
ALL $128,748,321

I will give Kalinic the bianual exception and I will add a wing on a minimum contract to be our 5th wing. We are over the luxury tax in this situation. Here's the depth chart if this happens:

PG Hill, Exum, Neto
SG Beal, Joe Ingles, min contract
SF Hayward, Nikola Kalinic
PF Joe Johnson, Lyles, Kuzma, Bolomboy
C Gobert, Bam Adebayo, Pasecniks

Even if I don't resign Ingles we are still going to be around the tax. One of the options is to let Hill go and try to sign Teodosic or Deron in FA with the MLE. This would cut the bill with about 10M and we will go under the tax.

If you had to choose between Hill + Hood or Deron/Teodosic + Beal which one would you choose?

You might as well tell Pasecniks to stay in Europe or sign him to the 2-way contract instead of a regular guaranteed one.

OK how about I give you 3 options:

1. Do the Bradley deal, pay Hill around 4x20(will be 18 the first year)

PG Hill, Exum, Neto
SG Beal, Joe Ingles, min contract
SF Hayward, Nikola Kalinic
PF Joe Johnson, Lyles, Kuzma, Bolomboy
C Gobert, Bam Adebayo, Pasecniks

We need to pay the tax here. We are about 8M over the tax.

2. We do the Bradley deal, but decide to get Deron/Teodosic type of PG with our MLE(about 8M)

PG Deron/Teodosic, Exum, Neto
SG Beal, Joe Ingles, min contract
SF Hayward, Nikola Kalinic
PF Joe Johnson, Lyles, Kuzma, Bolomboy
C Gobert, Bam Adebayo, Pasecniks

We don't pay the lux tax. A couple of million under it.

3. We don't do the Beal trade, but we do the OKC trade(Favors for Wright, Sabonis, future first), we sign Hill to 20M(18 the first year), stash Pasecniks. I will have to try to move one of the bigs for a cheap wing.

PG Hill, Exum, Neto
SG Hood, Joe Ingles, min contract
SF Hayward, Nikola Kalinic,
PF Joe Johnson, Wright, Lyles, Kuzma, Bolomboy
C Gobert, Sabonis, Bam Adebayo

We don't pay the tax. We are at about 114M(7M under the tax). Probably have to make some sort of deal to balance the roster(too many bigs). Might try getting rid off Wright for a wing.

Which one do you prefer?

Some interesting developments:
-Received the following offers for Favors:

Offer 1:
IND gets Derrick Favors + future 2nd round pick
UTA gets Thad Young + 2020 lottery protected 1st round pick

Offer 2:
OKC gets Derrick Favors
UTA gets Domantas Sabonis, Brandan Wright, OKC 2020(top 5 protected pick) 1st round pick

I'm also in negotiations to acquire Bradley Beal. The framework for it would be around Offer 2 and making it a 3-way deal:

UTA gets Beal
OKC gets Favors
WAS gets Hood, Sabonis, 2020 OKC 1st, Wright, Diaw(to be released)

WAS is pushing for another first rounder(better of Utah's 2018 picks). Would you give it to them for Beal?
Thoughts?

Hood and Favors for Beal seems like a no brainer to me. Even if you have to throw in a late first. That would make for a really good starting lineup. Although you would have to go out and get a PF since JJ and Lyles cannot hold that spot down for a season or the playoffs, nor will a rookie be much help.

Its a tough choice between 1 and 2. I think you need to get a PF because JJ, Lyles and a rookie cant hold that spot down. Maybe someone that can play a little 5 as well. So that would put you even more over 8 over this year and more going forward. But frankly you can trade players later for assets so I would try and go for the Beal trade and keep Hill. That is a scary good team if you can pick up a solid vet PF. Maybe look at Ilyasova, Taj, Mirotic, Patrick Patterson, David Lee, Jerebko, or even Montiejunas. Whichever you like and can get for cheap, some of them probably will cost too much.

Someone like Favors can be perfect :D

I might try getting Motiejunas indeed. Hopefully he's cheap.

Who hell is Wright?

Nice draft.

Yes, you trade for Bradley Beal. He was Washington's best player in Game 7 vs. the Celtics.

Yes, you could bring in a cheaper option at PG like Teodosic. Is Teague an UFA? What's his deal going to look like?

With Exum, you may need to decide if it's time to fish or cut bait towards the end of the season. You'll be looking to cut salary to lessen the tax burden.

The best thing about the Beal deal is that even if both Hill and Hayward leave, it sets us up nicely with a second star tied to a long term contract (4 years) to put next to Gobert and jumpstart the retool around them.

Yes. This is the great thing about Gobert as well. He literally works with any kind of player other than a big who plays mostly inside. He doesn't even take many possessions away from a scorer either. I think you should go with option #2 btw. Hayward's (lack of) ego and playstyle are a good match with Beal. Imagine Beal getting a ton of open shots in this offense. it would be amazing.

Teodosic or Dwill would both be legit options, and then you have a better defender who may or may not develop into a lead guard in Exum. The only position that makes me uncomfortable is PF. Maybe one of the draft picks surprises, or Lyles plays better. I don't think JJ can start for a whole season. He needs to have his minutes limited to be effective, imo.

To answer your first question..... I don't like that roster, I love it!

To answer the second question.... deron/Teo + Beal >> hood +hill.

I like option B (#2) best

This.
Get Beal

The Beal deal fell through. I'm now again trying to make a deal for Bledsoe.
