Ingles hinted at giving us a hometown discount. So 15m a year on the open market means 13m here for him to stay, that would be doable.

I view Green as one. Elite interior and perimeter defender. Elite passer for his position. Good shooter. Were he on a team focused on him, he's a legit Trimble-drouble threat.

Maybe people wouldn't vote for him bc they don't care about defense, but I would.

Just no. He's really good, but not MVP good.

I can't see us trading Hood.

We'll most likely trade Burke and Favors.

How much do you think Hood gets offered as a RFA next year? I think we keep Hood if we dont keep Hayward or Ingles but I think if we spend 45 million between those two there is not much room for someone like Hood that will probably get around 20 million. I think all of those players Favors, Hood and Burks are on their way out this year. Except for maybe Burks because he can improve his trade value a lot by being healthy next year, unless his contract is needed to get a deal done.

Obviously if a good trade does not come along then the will keep all of them until the trade deadline at least.

I only see us trading Exum if it nets us an all-star level player that is under contract for a couple more years.

Super interested to see what kind of interest Rudy Gay gets.

If he is cheap, I'd like to see the Jazz take a chance. Could be a good small ball 4 if he recovers well from the injury.

Damn Joe Ingles about to get PAID!

Yeah, he deserves it. How many players in the league can shoot as well as he does, play defense at 4 positions well and be able to pass the ball/run the offense at times?

I was hoping he would just stay our secret but he was a big part of why we did so well last season. With Hood/Hill being hurt Inlges really stepped up.

I saw someone say teams might be afraid to take a chance on him and he might get around $8M a year. I would take him for the MLE.

So lets take a look at our cap situation:

Rudy Gobert ($21,224,719)
Derrick Favors ($12,000,000)
Alec Burks ($10,845,506)
Joe Johnson ($10,505,000)
Dante Exum ($4,992,385)
Rodney Hood ($2,386,864)
Joel Bolomboy ($1,312,611)
Donovan Mitchell ($1,835,200)
Ricky Rubio ($14,100,000)

Total: $79,202,285

Cap Holds:
Joe Inlges ($4,085,000)
Gordon Hayward ($24,109,710)

Total with cap holds:
$107,396,995

Non Guaranteed:
Boris Diaw ($7,500,000)1
Raul Neto ($1,471,382)
Total: $8,971,382

Am I missing anything? I think that is what we are looking at if want to be at our lowest that is assuming we let those non guaranteed go. We probably keep Neto but if we need the room this is where we can be right?

So that is 8.4m over the cap. If we could somehow dump Favors and Burks that is almost 23M which would put us at 14 million in cap space. Could we get anyone for that much decent? Could we clear more room if we need to? How about clearing JJ to get us 24m in space. Could that net us anyone worth out time to strip our depth a bit? I dont see anyway to get room for a Max contract.

Hmm my guess is we dont really have cap space in free agency to make much happen besides MLE whch is 8 million. But we still have picks, Hood, Favors, Burks, Diaw(maybe our best asset) to make a decent trade. I guess we have Exum and Mitchell but only if its a big name since the FO seems to be very excited about both.

I am still unsure of the sign and trade rules so I am not sure about that option for FAs. But we could sign and trade JJ, Favors and Burks which is 33 million, that could net us someone like Griffin if sign and trades work when you are over the cap.

Utah still wants Hill at the right price.

As far as Exum goes, I've been told DL is not a believer. If we signed Hill with Rubio, I'd fully expect Favors and Exum packaged for something else.

I was also told Utah thought they had Blake Griffin but when CP3 left that deal died.

I could see this happening. Phoenix would need to add a pick though. This is very close to a deal involving Denver that almost happened on the day of the draft.

I would be sad to see Exum go but if he is neccasary to get us an all-star under contract I would be okay with the deal. Although I would rather trade picks or other players over Exum, like Hood.

I know you didnt include him, but how ironic would it be if the Jazz traded Donovan Mitchell? Never have I seen a draftee so excited about living in Utah.

I'd die a little. I'm really looking forward to watching that kid.

Is there any evidence that your dude is reliable?

Who told you DL isnt a believer? You have an inside source? All of the rumors and direct statements about him are very high. Locke is convinced that Diaw, Hood and Favors are our next in line trade assets in that order of both value in a trade and likely to be traded.

Pretty high level exec with the Jazz. You can see his picture in the programs.

As far as reliable, I'd say he is close enough to DL's office to over hear things, not close enough to know things.

The two biggest things he has said since December:

The Jazz do not think Exum will ever make it mentally and Hayward was pissed Hill sat out so much.
