STAYWARD

The more time this drags on, the less confident I get. We're a known quantity and we can pay him the most (by far). Shouldn't need much convincing.

We can offer like 200k more after taxes than Miami over 3 years. And about 2mil more than Boston. He's taking the 3+1 by all accounts.

My worry is how often does a team have to wine and dine their own FA this much, with the FA ultimately reuppimg? Lowry got done without fanfare to stay. The whole process is a bad omen :(

Agreed. It's usually more cut and dry either way (stay or go).

Locke just said those that know Hayward's agent say he is a "sleep on it" kind of guy. That his advice will be for Hayward to sleep on it.

Lowry didn't have a big market for his services. Blake Griffin would have had teams after him just like Hayward probably but he decided to stay with the Clippers after Chris Paul was traded. The process isn't a bad omen. It's fairly standard for the biggest free agent available.

Agree about the process, but the home team typically isn't one of the vying teams. The process makes perfect sense for all other teams.

I already love Donovan Mitchell

SLC Dubk just tweeted that Mitchell was leaning in to hear Ainge's phone call. Lmfao
Awesomeness

The longer this drags on, the farther Hayward drops on my favorite Jazz man list. He was #2, but now Mitchell just moved ahead of him. Hanging by a thread to #3.
