NBA Free Agency Moves in General (related to the Jazz, but not just moves made by the Jazz)

I mean, it's a possibility. Before the Hayward decision it was rumored he was looking for an extension between 15-20 million a year.

Tony Jones said he is looking at getting 15-18 pre Hayward... not sure Hayward has as much bearing on his contract situation. If dude struggles with injuries (as he has with 2 of his 3 seasons) he won't get that much... Teams will not have space next year.

Yeah, that was the number.

And again, it depends on Brooklyn.

Exum will likely be had on a cheap contract next year. Even if he has a good season, I dont see anyone paying him on this market (unless he just really has a great 15+ ppg year). Hood could be expensive though, yeah. He could also be really cheap. It's a great market to have RFA rights on player as long as Brooklyn doesnt **** you.

Jazz just have to draft their asses off. They got Mitchell with 24 and Lyles. DL can still pull off great moves.

You're reminding me that Lyles is another pick that didn't pan out. It happens. Regarding Exum, I think he is now right back where he was after his rookie season. It's as though he's now about to play his second season in the league. His body is healthy and he's had a summer to develop his game. Rubio takes pressure off of Exum and might be one of the best mentors he could possibly have. We'll know what Exum is by mid-season.

Meanwhile, Rubio runs a tight ship that helps young guys like Mitchell play in a successful system. It's good for his development. Ingles falls into this category as well. These are great teammates, hard workers, mentors and system guys.

Regarding Hood, if he takes the next step in his development then he becomes a near-max player and remains part of the longer term plan. If not, he'll be moved.

I'm just wondering how the Jazz can get one more young stud player to team with Mitchell, Gobert and Exum (if Exum ultimately pans out). They need to do it soon before the age gap with Rudy becomes too big.

I think Mitchell might turn out to be somewhere between Eric Gordon and Damian Lillard. Gobert is Gobert. Need two more studs.

The more I think about this the more I hope that Dante Exum pans out as a guy who can defend Steph Curry and put up 15 pts and 7 assists with decent efficiency.

I just hope Dante adjust his expectations of what kind of player he is. His best position will be a wing who isnt a primary handler.

I think the Jazz still want him to become 80% of what Tony Parker was. Might be wishful thinking. He needs a handle and a shot off the bounce.

Here's what I think happened with Derrick Favors -- He never really developed his offensive game to be a PF, especially the way the game has evolved. Learning from Al Jefferson in the post isn't a match with the modern game. Since he's had to bang with Centers, he worked a lot to gain strength and put on weight, but that weight and workload hurt his ability to stay healthy. As an athlete, he might be best served to stay under 240 lbs, but he doesn't have the skills to play that way. I think he should be moved to the Eastern Conference where he can be someone's low-post big.

I think we may get in on Crowder... would be an awkward conversation and not sure what we'd offer... not giving those ******** a first round pick. I looked for a logical destination that would give a pick and didn't see one.

Would anyone do a three way trade where we send Phoenix Dante Exum, Phoenix sends the Miami pick, and we get Crowder? I'd substitute Favs for exum, but I don't think they would.

Celtics have to move Crowder, Bradley, or release Mickey/Jackson and trade Smart.

I think the only person who hates Gordon more than his ex teammates and Jazz fans is Jae Crowder. If they are on the same team I see a potential practice fist fight. He was pissed when the Celtics fans cheered him.

There is no way in hell Favors was ever staying under 240 with his frame. He came into the league at 245 and he looked skinny back then. *I looked it up, he was a 6.5% body fat back then too.

W/ Favors you probably want to try to keep him in the 250's at best. I bet he has been in the 270's the past few years.

Teodosic going to the Clippers.
Dion Waiters going back to Miami.
Memphis picking up Ben McLemore.
Will update the OP.
