What's new

YOU SEE donovan mitchell DROP tatum then stare em down!? that was cold!!!

I am glad you posted this to give me the opportunity to introduce myself to the community. So I have followed the NBA for a very long time and have loved the league very much however I live in the Cincy/Northern Kentucky area so there is not a local NBA team so I have never had a true rooting interest. Growing up I was a 76ers fan only because I loved AI so much, didnt like how his departure went and really didnt like how they embraced the true tanking approach. I really like rooting for Lebron James but I cant bring myself to cheer for a Cleveland franchise so here I am. After some real reflection I have decided to be a Utah Jazz fan a few weeks ago, I am a die hard Louisville Cardinals fan and the greatest player in school history (Darrell Griffith) played for the Jazz. Also my guy Donovan Mitchell was just drafted by Utah and I am really looking forward to watching his continued development. I think we got a gem at 13 and that Trey Lyles was a very fair price to give up. I am excited to be a part of this board and learning about this franchise and fanbase and engaging in discussion with everyone as well.

I think Mitchell, with good coaching, can play the pg. His handle is so much tighter than Exum's, and he's got good vision, awareness, and selflessness. I would love to see this kid coached up to become our starting 1 and Exum to be, potentially, our starting two.

I love the dog in Mitchell. Huge need on the Jazz and we are thrilled to have him.

I'm guessing we will get a better feel for his pg skills in Vegas since ex won't be there.

I love Mitchell, he's going to have a better career than lonzo ball

For instance, the very first play of this highlight, Lonzo never made a play like that in his life.

Everybody get on the Mitchell hype train.

Oh wait everyone's already here.

Alright. Let's load this mother****er up with coal and get going then.

Coal? Philistine. This is a mag-lev bullet train. Minimum 200 MPH. Rev it up!

Mitchell is going to be a baller! He will be better than haywood in just a couple of years...book it!!!

Boston fans have been on twitter yelling about a push off and charges. LOL

I really think he is going to be a great one. I may sound biased as a big Louisville fan, but I have really felt like he would make for a great pro midway through his sophomore year. His jumpshot in 2 years has come so far and he is an incredible on ball defender. Since Pitino has been the coach at Louisville only two players have I really looked at and thought of as great future pros. Donovan Mitchell, and Terry Rozier.

Hey DonGriff, don't mind Jones, he's a KY fan and he's just mad that Mitchell is better than the 2 KY players the Jazz have drafted and subsequently traded to get real NBA players.

I'm also just joking Jones..... sorta

Let me tell you something about the Utah Jazz.

25 years ago my grandfather passed away. He held a single season ticket in the nosebleeds. There were a few weeks left in the season when he died unexpectedly on a vacation so my mother and her sisters split up the remaining tickets to go watch the rest of the 1992 season. The usher noticed my aunt sitting in my grandpa's seat and asked when he was coming back and if he'd had a good trip. My aunt said that sadly he had passed away. The usher and my aunt wept together about the loss.

Two days later at the services, we were looking at the cards on the flower arrangements that family, friends, and neighbors had sent. "Who on earth would send such a large arrangement?" Asked another aunt, (coincidentally a flower shop owner). "The Utah Jazz," I joked. "Look at the colors, who else would send it?" And my mother opened the card and said, "You weren't kidding. The Utah Jazz sent us flowers."

The Utah Jazz sent the largest arrangement of flowers to my grandfather's funeral. He didn't sit on the front row, he was no titan of industry. He was a retired high school vice principal who sat in the nosebleeds.

The Jazz aren't fake and they aren't craven. They are run by honest, hard-working, decent people. Every city should be so lucky to have a team like the Jazz.

That was a class move from an organization that transcends basketball - thanks for sharing that!

I'm a 49ers fan and their ownership and front office is/was a joke. I often think we take having one of the best ran organizations in the entire world for granted.
