Feel like it was the right call. If Joel is good in 3-4 years please remember his contract only runs for the next two years.

Sometimes its better to be the second team that gets these type of projects.

I'm glad they chose to stick with O'neale. I feel like O'neale is more able to stay mentally prepared and be ready to go when his number is called after multiple DNP's. Someone said on Twitter that Joel struggled at times with the schemes which may have been one of the deciding factors.

Yup. O'Neale's "feel for the game" and ball-handling/playmaking skills definitely gave him the edge.

If they did they did him a huge favor waiting for his contract to become guaranteed. Bolomboy will certainly make more money this year by being cut as he will be playing professionally somewhere.

I believe if someone else signs him then the Jazz only have to pay him the difference between his guaranteed salary and the salary the new team signs him for. But maybe there are exceptions/adjustments for salaries around the minimum. Anybody know how this works?
